Riggleman just said Marquis to the DL... apparently Marquis has reported an arm problem.

Clippard is great where he is. I don't want our best reliever to be pressed into service as a starter. JMO.

Here's what Riggleman had to say re: Clippard perhaps starting, per Kilgore:

Quote
Pregame notes on Clippard, Dunn, Marquis
With Tyler Clippard's dominance early this season, Jim Riggleman has started taking questions about whether he might become a starter again. This morning, of those questions came from a particularly close source.

"That was my brother actually," Riggleman said. "Trying to give me some advice. 'Why don't you start Clippard?' I said, 'Why don't you go sell some more copiers.' "

(:lmao:)

In a more serious vein, Riggleman explained that Clippard is too valuable as a reliever to shift to a starter.

"I'm not sure what took place that brought on the decision that he was going to go to the bullpen," Riggleman said. "But right now he'd be very hard to replace in the bullpen. You'd be kind of filling a hole but creating a hole also. I think we're going to leave him alone there for the time being."

Clippard has basically become the Nationals' set-up man, capable of pitching both the seventh and eighth inning. "Right now, that's what we want to use him as," Riggleman said. "He kind of gravitated toward that last year. He's really done a heck of a job."

In other words: "Hell no!"

that sucks ... i was hoping marquis would come back in two weeks max and be ready to deliver.  if LA can't get the job done, Detwiler could have a spot.

I fell on my ass back during one of the big snow storms in Feb, trying to knock snow off a tree before it broke off.  Not too unusual, except I cracked my elbow hard on the blacktop driveway, and ever since have had issues in the 'bow.  When I rub it right on the elbow tip, there are loose floating bodies that I can move around, though they seem connected by a gel or some fibers.  I can't really prop myself up on my elbow without significant pain, though if I were left handed and had a decent shoulder, I could probably throw okay.

Just saying, I think I know what floating bodies are.

First, feel better.

Second I so wish that would have started with "Trust me...".
