I've said that the fans are low balling their expectations for Guzman, so treat that as closer to 7 or 8 runs using the CHONE estimate for Guz.  Congrats, Dunnkey, you proved the point for the geeks.

I just wanted to hear some more grounded opinions on what exactly people think Hudson will contribute aside from raw individual numbers, no matter how fancy

Because Hudson is a Second Baseman, and Guzman is not. Guzman is a shortstop who has never played second base in his life.

and as a Second Baseman, Hudson is WAY better than anyone else we have to put at second base.

A major league source told FOXSports.com that the Twins have intensified their pursuit of free agent second baseman Orlando Hudson.

The Nationals have been connected to Hudson most often, but that doesn't mean they are the front-runners for his services. They are hoping that O-Dog comes down to their price, but the veteran second baseman still hopes to land $6 million on a one-year deal, according to a source. That isn't likely to happen with either club, but if they offer similar deals, the chance of being on a winning ballclub in Minnesota could be the difference. Stay tuned.
