Uggla is nowhere near the worst 2B in the game.
Name some that are worse.
Four actually, bottom four. Of the everyday starting 2b in baseball last year, there were only 3 worse than him. (Flop was one of them, btw)
Ronnie Beliard
Belliard, Kelly Johnson, Flop, Castilla, etc
Lopez wasn't worse than Uggla last year. Where did you get that from?
Defensively he was slightly at least in the main stats. I couldn't find a place to sort some of those more perifrial stats by league leaders, but for fielding percentage, Zone Rating and Range Factor, Flop was behind Uggla in all of them and near the bottom in all but range factor where he was in the middle of the pack. Uggla was near the bottom too in all but range factor where he was actually among the league leaders, fwiw. This is just for every day 2b from last year, so the list doesn't include guys who might have been hurt or who might have platooned or something else like that. I don't know what the threashold was for that.
Are you sure you weren't looking at Felipe's '08 stats?
Range-wise, maybe. But that's it. On the overall, Belliard is better.I was looking at fielding stats earlier and I think Luis Castillo was the only second baseman worse than Uggla.
Are you sure you weren't looking at Felipe's '08 stats? '09 RF/GLopez - 4.6Uggla - 4.4
No, no, no, yes, no.
Either way, they're both pretty bad and I don't want either of them any where near my roster.
Aha so Ronnynat is actually Madeline Kahn!
the one where we dont judge players by the sound of their last names?
Why does everyone act like the Nats had a real good offense? They don't. They were actually below average last season.
and the rest of us are talking about STARTERS. i.e. we dont give a crap about "fat ronnie" fat ronnie isnt here anymore, so why are you still obsessed with bashing him?
