Bruce is inspiring good play with merely his presence.  Jayson Werth really was worth it!

the guy has some serious pop, i think he's going to syracuse shortly, he's also putting up quiet the numbers.

How did Harper go from 1st to 3rd on a ground out?

Give ya a hint: he was already at second when the batter hit the ball!

He's much faster than I imagined. It also looks like he has decent base stealing ability beyond just being fast.

They're in Richmond July 21. I'll be there, for sure.

We might do that one instead, depending on schedules.

Rizzo said he wasn't going to Syracuse this year, and I can't see him going there anytime soon even if he lights up AA.

I think Bruce and the gang stick around and give Harrisburg a championship victory.

Brief excerpt on Harper from Sickels in his Futures hitters preview:

Quote
Bryce Harper, OF, Washington Nationals: Drafted in the first round, first overall, in 2010 from the Junior College of Southern Nevada. Hit .318/.423/.554 in 258 at-bats for Low-A Harrisburg, 14 homer, 19 steals, 44 walks, 61 strikeouts. Just promoted to Double-A. Harper could be the best prospect of the last 40 years and ranks with historical phenoms like Ken Griffey, Jr., and Alex Rodriguez. Outstanding power, strong plate discipline, excellent baserunner with good speed, strong throwing arm, amazing polish for just 18 years old. Major League ETA: late 2012-2013.

I'm afraid the Chief has a response to this.

Just saw on NBC 4 where he was talking about the last 20 games and how he was losing focus and just wanted to get out of there.  I love the kid, but that doesn't jive with me much.

They may have over done him in Hagerstown. He was killing pitching but they waited too long and he started to get anxious I guess. All the interviews I have read it seems like he wants to be up playing MLB as soon as possible.

Went to the game tonight. Harper hit the ball well a couple of times, just right to the 2B and SS. Had two great throws to prevent doubles.
