Trying to make the Marlins fans feel good about Loria, during the Nats series the TV announcers mentioned how Zimmerman was considered the face of the franchise and the Nats went to arby rather than lock him up, unlike the Fish with Hanley. They conveniently forgot the fact that no player with a multi-year contract with Loria has ever lasted more than two years without being traded, and even that only happened once - Mike Lowell - with nobody else ever staying with they team beyond the non-waiver deadline of the 2nd year, and most getting traded during the offseason after the first year. Then they went on about how Zimmerman was not locked up, but they'd given Dmitri a 2-year deal.
Made me feel oh so much better about Loria.
