The stance looks okay to me, but the swing is a little off.

the biggest problem with that image are all the fans in the stands. :)

Are any of the 2K games worth owning?

actually, NBA 2K series is probably the best basketball game series I have ever played. Other than that, EA runs the sports genre.

The thing that sucks is EA bought out the football rights from 2k which led to 2k buying out the baseball rights for 7 years from EA. So 2k is the only series making baseball games while EA is the only series making football games. It hurts everyone since EA's baseball game is way better than 2k (mvp is still awesome) so come 2013, xbox owners can finally get a new game. 2k's football I heard was damn good. Plus 2k sold their game for like 20-30$ the first year or two.

NFL 2k5 was better than Madden, and $20.  I was pissed when Madden became the only game (heh) in town.

I was watching this video:

I think the game looks great, but they REALLY need to update the commentary. It's been the same for 3+ years now.

The commentary does suck pretty bad.

Last night I added Ian Desmond's batting music and am in the process of adding the rest of the roster with my roommate. Pretty cool.

Yea. With EA buying the rights out, 2k decided to do the same with MLB. The difference is that Madden got better (its decent right now) and MLB 2k didn't go anywhere.

madden on the PC was far better than anything i've seen on a gaming system.

2k sports college hoops games (much like nba) are so much better than the EA sports brand.  there was no college basketball game this year - and 2K hasn't made a college hoops edition in two years - but i hope next year it returns with 2K being the developer.

EA also didn't have a basketball game this year. They had an idea but it was to bad to release or something like that.

So, I was wrong.

If you go to Werth's stance in the editor, it is indeed listed as "Generic #1" and it shows his stance as the generic stance.

What I had forgotten, though, is that MLB The Show has 'hidden' stances and pitching motions in the game, and although it says "Generic #1" for Werth, when you play the game his stance replaces the generic one instead.

So, word for all those worried about Werth's stance in MLB The Show 11... don't edit it, it works fine when you play with him, in game.

so suffice to say, is the The Show '11 worth getting? I have last year's version and love it. I can get the new one for free with my Amazon gift card I got at work.

Honestly, it all depends on whether you want a few more features... because it's the same game with a bit more shine.

I'm almost at the point where I'm going to go every other year for sports games... unless the game is introducing a new mode I can't live with out.

To be honest, MLB 11 is really MLB 10.5.

Not that there's anything wrong with that... or that it isn't a great game... but if you have to buy the game at full price, you would be better off waiting for it to be used, or you really need to love the new rosters/new uniforms.

It's hard for The Show to reinvent the wheel each game... for MLB 11, they just fine tuned how the wheel spins.

Modells -> Art Modell?

Got 2K11, it doesn't look very different from last year's game, but last year's was a ton better than 2k9, so...

Stop being cheap.  Go and pay full price.  If you want high-end talent in a video game you need to pay top dollar.  Stop running your game library on a minor-league budget.   8)
