It'a all good. I'm just freaking around. Belliard's stats as at first are misleading because he was in a platoon and killed lefties last year.

Yeah, especially if it's a hitter. I think Zimmerman was the last college hitter they took in the first two rounds.

I still don't see why we're so stuck on Dunn, when Sheets is really the high reward player that I think we need to take a risk on. It looks like Sheets is going to get less than 10m/yr possibly around that with bonuses. He pitched just under 200innings last year, and 140 the year before. Every single year over 100 innings. So even with injuries he's still pitching. I mean the guy has a career 3.72 ERA!!!! I know we think our rotation is set, but we have no idea how Zimm will do, and Balester scares me. If people think Dunn is worth 5 wins, I would think Sheets is worth 8 or so if he's healthy over a guy like Balester. Not to mention, a healthy sheets is worth way more than a healthy Dunn, for trade value. Too bad the lerners are focused on a guy like Glavine though...lol

since when? I've not heard of any serious interest on our part. all I've seen is "oh the Nats could be a good fit for *insert random player who isn't getting the money he wants from his team*"

is it confirmed that we are actually pursuing Glavine at all?

If there's smoke, there's a fire. If he's interested in us, you can bet that we've had informal talks with him. I didn't mean we're actively going hard after him, sorry, I just want the rumors to be about us and Sheets and not guys like Glavine.

Bowden said we would only get an oldster if it would not impede the progress of one of our younger players, specifically including Balester in that remark. He said, if say we were replacing a journeyman at the bottom of the bullpen, no problem with that.

I took that to mean very little interest in Glavine.

Per Ladsun, the Nationals remain interested in Chad Cordero.

Cordero is still recovering from right shoulder surgery and throwing on flat ground. There is no word on when he will throw off a mound next, though assistant general manager Mike Rizzo has been in close contact with Cordero's agent, Larry Reynolds.

"He isn't ready -- health wise -- to throw at the level that he needs to, but certainly we are monitoring it," Bowden said of Cordero. "He is a special person and special talent."

Ronnie Futbol is a terrible defender at any position. His bat is decent, so he can be the 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench. But having him start is akin to having Paulie Walnuts and Fat Johnny platooning.

More evidence of sportsfan losing his mind and joining forces or perhaps becoming AZ's padawan. Here he is defending Belliard to the point that he is convinced pimpjuice and ultimate Bazooka gum dispenser actually played 3 positions at the same time last season!

You took that a little too literal. But on a game to game basis last year he could be playing a plethora of different positions. It's gotta be hard to re-adjust constantly like that.
