things have been so quiet on the offseason front the past week, just think it's funny how our three most popular threads are a "my relationship" thread, a deadspin article about Mock and a muppets thread hahahaha.

and on that note, in ken rosenthal's latest column, says the nats have more interest in dunn than abreu.  also says glavine and the nats would most likely not make for a good match.

Abreu or Dunn would make me do a happy dance

Why does it shock anyone that Dunn's first choice would be The Dodgers? I bet once Manny signs, he signs within the next day with us.

Quote
Dunn Deal Dept.: OK, here's another hang-up if Manny decides to stall until spring training. An official of one team that has had contact with Adam Dunn's agents says Dunn is "definitely" waiting to see what happens with Ramirez because the Dodgers are his preferred destination.

That's not a good development for the Nationals, who have made no secret of their interest in Dunn. But it's becoming increasingly clear they aren't his No. 1 choice.

"If he wanted to be in Washington, he'd already be there," the same official said.

The Nationals remain Dunn's most aggressive suitor. And the Orioles are still believed to have some back-burner interest. But the Braves have backed off after concluding Dunn didn't fit with the other pieces of their lineup. So with no other contenders in the hunt, the big question is:

Dunn may want to be a Dodger, but how interested are the Dodgers in him? On that front, the Dodgers have been hard to read.

Indications are they've made regular contact with Dunn's agent, Greg Genske. But they've never gone beyond an expression of interest that would depend on how other pieces (i.e., the Manny piece) fit together.

For now, the Dodgers appear focused on pitching. But at some point, after they finish off the seemingly inevitable signing of Randy Wolf, it's very possible they'll make one final run at Ramirez and then turn their attention to seeing whether they can get Dunn signed to a short-term deal.

Yeah that's what everyone in the buisness is saying Manny to Dodgers, Dunn to the Nats.  The O's have more outfielders than the Nats (I know not possible haha), the Braves haven't really showed much interest, and we've already discussed the Dodgers.

Most free agents first thought is to go to a contender, but it can't always be that way.  And he's not getting that four year deal he wanted.  He'll get three years at the most.

When it's all said and done I really think he'll end up for the Nats for a 2-3 year deal.  I think it'll be a good fit for both sides.

That was before the Bradley signing.  Doesn't look realistic now.

I had also heard that Dunn wasn't too keen about playing 1B (whether with the Nats or with another club).  At some point though, he probably better find a job.... any job.

It's not like that big oaf plays outfield well.

Still, we can look into moving Willingham over to first if it'd get him here.

We're definately the drunk ugly check left over at the frat party. Dunn is desperately trying to find something else, but they are all leaving, so he's going to have to ask him self if he wants to go home alone or just suck it up.

I have to be concerned with how motivated Dunn will be if he comes here simply because he has no other options.

I'd much rather have a player who actually wants to be here. but that's just me.

Does anyone on our team now fit that criteria?

Hold on.  Not everyone is FLop.  And I actually was excited about FLop when he first arrived but he turned out to be a jack-ass.

Most of these guys are professionals and will play hard for whatever team they happen to be on.
