 You crack me up, SF.
Why is that?

OK, hammondsnats is keeping it real. ronnynat shaved off the lion's mane for the holidays and will regain his patience once it grows back which coincides with when pitchers and catchers report.
Haha. Remember when ronnynat first came here and we (or me) ripped on ronnynat for having "I will wait for as long as it takes" in his avatar?

Yeah I sort of recall that. I'd like to find those posts to see if we told him that it would be a while.

haha thanks for throwing me under the bus ronny.

i took off the blinders after losing 102 games.  i'm sorry i just don't have a lot of faith in this organization.  i get tired of typing yeah if it weren't for injuries we would've been a bit better, but we still would've been one of the worst teams in baseball.

i love nats baseball, they are a close second behind maryland basketball as favorite teams go, but we suck and have done nothing other than pick up willingham/olsen (and maybe the d-cab signing) to get better from last year.  i know it's early, but we'll see if we make move(s) to get better.

Why is that?

Because according to you, 90% of the players in the league are bums, including about half of the stars.

I don't remember that at all. That would've been quite a few posts ago, though.

I probably said that myself. I doubt I would've put that quote up there if I thought we'd be in contention soon.

by the way, i don't mind our pen.  rivera/mock/shell/hinckley/hanrahan (at times) isn't too shabby.  and maybe add in shawn hill if he's healthy and if the think tank wants to convert him to a relief pitcher.

how many of you folks were Expos fans?  i ask because i think the Expos fans got used to rooting for the prospects and standing pat.  half the reason for watching was to see progress.  we never signed anyone.

We have very few of those dinosaurs. We used to have a couple that posted more regularly but they are increasingly becoming extinct.

I found a few of the posts:

I have all of the patience in the world for this team. I could take (but, of course, don't want) some down seasons. It'll happen...eventually.

I'm proud of our guys for this series, but as far as your statement: I demand a winner.  If you don't demand a winner, then you won't get one.  The Nats, as a major league team, have to field a major league product.  I'm not saying they will, or don't, but IMO that attitude gets you nowhere.

hey ronnynat what does your motto mean?

For the Nats to become "the team" plus that's kind of what it looks like my lion would say in the pic.

I didn't mean it in a derogatory way. I just meant that they were around before us. And I agree with your statement. One of the old expos fan who used to post here brought that angle to the discussion but he hasn't been around in a while.

Good point.   Well now that we have "uncensored" plus we don't have as many people whining about content they can take more time off. tomterp is handling his business though.

Speaking of Screech and Clint, the Lerners are so cheap I wouldn't be surprised if they have those two on loan at the Purdue farm to bring home a couple extra paychecks during the offseason.

I almost feel as if Uncensored is unnecessary now. I mean, the two people that fought so hard to "puritanize" the board don't even post here anymore and only three threads are consistently posted in there anyways.

Ya but the Expos developped and scouted very good players. Although we ended up trading most of them, it was surprising to see how many good players came through the organization. Too bad, if we would have had a huge payroll, there are some years we would have been the best in the majors with who we traded away due to just cutting payroll.

ME. i don't think many people are aware of that. i became an an avid Expos Fan around 2000 (i was attracted to them for some reason) and then I made the natural transition to becoming a Nationals fanatic.

Today's LA Times has Colletti saying that Manny is the Dodgers first choice but he wouldn't speculate as to who their Plan B is since those talks are stalled. The writer says it's Abreu or Dunn.

Ok sign Manny. Thank you for looking up the splits and not just resisting a Dunn signing because he's ugly or has bad shoes like you did before.

Unlike AZ, I reserve judgement on players regardless of looks, spikes or pimp status and look at what he/she can do for a team.  Dunn just sucks.
