can we just make a move so that we can end all the speculation? jesus, it's so annoying that the hot stove is really just weeks and weeks of nothing

150 at home. 128 away. Not that big of a difference. He hits no-doubters, so it doesn't matter where he's playing.

Seriously, Dunn peed in Minty's Cheerios

ESPN is reporting that the Dodgers are now involved in bidding for Dunn's services. It looks like it might come down to the Cubs and Dodgers for him. I hate to say it, but we might have to depend on Nick Johnson to be the man at first. I don't think we'll get more than a month or so into the season before he gets hurt, but what other options do we have? A Casto/Belliard platoon?

If Waterford breaks, hopefully Shamu's glycaemic level will be low enough to roll him out...otherwise, we are freaked.

i would like to mention, that acquiring Manny would single hanedly accomplish the task of putting baseball in the Nations capital on the map. everyone (including me) cries about the Nationals being the laughingstock of the league, but if we got Manny the whole world would be watching us. that's the appeal Manny has.

i also think Bowden is the type of carefree owner that would allow the antics of "Manny being Manny" without any objections.

another minor aspect is...Manny is still the undisputed most dominant hitter in the game.

Bowden owns the Nats now eh?  How much did he pay Mr. Lerner?

The antics being allowed would be an issue for Acta to handle and not Lerner or Bowden.

 It's funny how little AZ does to hide the fact that he isn't a real Nationals fan.

lol there really was no point in arguing dunn or manny, considering we're not getting either :?

I think the Nats will get someone else who isn't really an upgrade over NJ/Casto/whatever piece of crap we throw out there (Boone comes to mind), just to say they got someone.

Or they won't do crap. Either way we're freaked.

I'm starting to think that Willingham was the intended backup plan with Milledge going to LF and Harris or Bernadinia to center

Guys like Dunn and Manny hinged on where Tex signed and Tex signed right before Christmas so now all the GMs and Agents are on vacation. Stuff will start happenning again next week. Remember these people have families too. No one really wants to be working this time of year and I am sure GMs and agents can afford a few extra days off.

It is posts like these that sometimes makes me wish football lasted all season long so AZ could go and stay in the NFL thread, spanking his monkey on the face of Randy Moss, so that everyone else can talk baseball in relative peace.

EPIC FAIL.

Cease this talk of GMs actually being human and caring about the Christian God. It is lunacy.

Idiot, we wouldn't sue you-- if we could, we would just bypass the whole court procedure and give you the death penalty as an act of mercy.

Way, way too much IMO. Over the line.

Mercy is over the line?

EDIT: I removed that part so not to damage your fragile sensibilities, but I am only saying what half of us are thinking.

You [NoTLD] are cited for an inappropriate / misused metaphor.  Please don't let it happen again.

Please advise regarding a proper substitute. I want to learn the letter of the law.

Beat his bishop?
Burp his worm?
Crank his shank?
Dink his slinky?
Flog his dolphin?
Grease his pipe?
Hack his mack?
Jerkin' his gherkin?
Milk his chicken?
Onan's Olympics?
Polish his sword?
Strike his pink match?
Tickle his pickle?
Unclog his pipes?
Varnish his pole?
Watch the eyelid movies?
Yank his crank?

Note if none of the above are appropriate substitutes I can provide more. ;)
