OMG. Rhinehart has never played with the big boys. Also, he's not exactly a masher. And if Willingham is at first, that means your nemesis Kearns or maybe big Wily Mo is starting. Are you sure you wouldn't rather have Dunn?

i don't want Dunn under any circumstances, period. and it doesn't mean that Kearns or Wily Mo would be starting. we have plenty of other outfielders that could fill the void.

I'm still hopeful that we will dispense Kearns and/or Wily Mo some how, some way.

Only in lala land would a minor leaguer be called up to start over a 2-5 million dollar a year player like WMP or Kearns. Besides, how can we get rid of them if they never play? You cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Plenty of other outfielders?

Willie Harris is the only one i would want playing there if we are in this crap hole of a situation.
(if we are still putting willingham at first)
Kearns: No.
Wily Mo: No.
Bernadina: No.
Maxwell: No.
etc
etc
etc

Go get Dunn, Go trade for first base. Get us away from this crappy position please.

They have no value, if you think anyone will give us anything for WMP or Kearns, put down the pipe. Put them on the bench and give the minor leaguers a shot- whats the worst that can happen?

Why not cut them then? Does either have an ounce of value as a pinch hitter? Kearns is a good defensive replacement for Willingham, but that's about it.

I would personally say just throw then in Single A of GC and hope they get so fed up they quit (and we don't have to pay)

I don't believe this. If you blow them away with an offer other teams are unwilling to match they will take the money. You are not going to convince me that players stopped following the money over the last couple of years and that all they really care about is winning.

Exactly. That is why we have Mark Teixeira right now.

I'm pretty sure AZ prefers powdered donut holes to cake.

Yeah you're right because our offer really blew every other offer out of the water.

Here are the line-ups if we fail to add anyone this offseason:

SS Guzman
CF Milledge
1B Johnson (cough cough, i mean casto/orr/belliard)
RF Dukes
3B Zimmerman
LF Willingham
C Flores
2B Anderson

or

SS Guzman
CF Milledge
1B Willingham
LF Dukes
3B Zimmerman
RF Kearns
C Flores
2B Anderson

doesn't strike fear in anyone's eyes.

If we don't do anything from here, this is what I would want our lineup to be be:

1. Guzman SS
2. Milledge CF
3. Zimmerman 3B
4. Dukes RF
5. Johnson 1B
6. Willingham LF
7. Flores C
8. Hernandez 2B
9. Pitcher

And then when NJ gets injured..

1. Guzman SS
2. Milledge CF
3. Zimmerman 3B
4. Dukes LF
5. Willingham 1B
6. Flores C
7. Harris RF
8. Hernandez 2B

I really don't mind this, especially if Maxwell is ready when NJ goes down.

Let's keep things in perspective. I ask you, what do you prefer....?

a lousy teaam riddled with injuries and in a rebu8lding mode or another 33 years without baseball?

I prefer next year's team. Dare I say it ... we might be the next Rays.

That lineup is not that bad. It's time for our young studs to finally reach their potential and start performing at high levels. I expect big years from Zim, Dukes, Milledge, etc.

This. For everyone who drools over Zimm and Dukes- if they are really 30hr guys this lineup will be fine. I personally expect a big year out of Milledge.

Every year it's sign warmed over crap and pray the kids deliver. I say trade the kids for proven commodities and field a .500 team. Then we sign 1 or 2 pieces and really take off.

That's my goddamn plan. You can't have 6 1/2 major leaguers and detrius and kids and hope to get anywhere. This team has no depth!!!!!

Amended:
I think we are screwed if we miss out on Abreu and Dunn.
