he is the most inconsistent pitcher we have. we never know which bergmann is going to show up.

and some of us have been shouting this for years and the evidence to support this continues to mount up, but people still refuse to believe us.

So if this is so obvious to most of us what possible reason could there be for others to refuse to accept the reality of the situation?

Do you think Debbi Taylor is actually listening to a word he is saying?

After 3 innings. For this game, Bergmann's WHIP is 5.00 and his ERA is 30.00.

I am an advocate for replacing Acta in the off season, but no MLB manager would have left Bergmann out there until it was 10-0 in the 3rd.  I'd pull a 2008 NY Mets, and fire Acta and the whole coaching staff, before the night is over.  Bring up a top Little League crew.  Who is our leadoff and cleanup... AGAIN?  What did we get for Rauch?  Dump Bowden too.

The team should throw at Beltran in retaliation for the pitch at Milledge. Spice this game up a bit.

If Bergmann gets demoted after this outing others will join you in furiously calling for Bowden's head.  :?

yep, cause Bergmann will instantly turn into roy halladay, the instant Manny is fired.

gtfo with this.

when do the players have to take responsibility for playing like crap?

What a jack ass. We have walked Schneider-Maine back-to-back in consecutive innings.

No one is saying the players aren't responsible. But to say the coaching staff is above blame is crazy.

Colome sucks.

Maybe Manny should tell him to throw at the batter and then the pitches will go over the plate instead.

I'm not saying they are above blame. I'm saying that the instant answer isn't "fire Manny" every time something bad happens in a game.

are we mets fans now? fire the manager after every bad pitch?

I was thinking the same thing. While the coaching staff has certainly been no jewel of the league, it always ultimately falls on the players to perform and execute. Manny Acta didn't go out there and whisper in Beachball's head to throw up 10 earned runs in three innings. That was all Beachball and crappy play.

You can't blame the man for throwing a beach party from time to time.

during that 7-game stretch where we went 6-1, not a single soul on this board praised manny for any of it. that was all on the players.

but now when they play like this, it's all on the coaching staff.

that's a little inconsistent, don't you think?

What a horrible start.
If he is going to continue to be Jekyll and Hyde, he needs to be sent to the minors. Some starts he looks unhittable, and some he looks like pure crap.

Did Pete Orr really choose to play for this team as opposed to the Canadian Olympic Squad?

What a mirage that first week in August was.  We constantly get abused by the bum that is John Maine.
