Colume is still here because of Bowden.  It's a religious thing.   Bowden has a strange religious practice where he prays for buttocks.  If Colume goes, Bowden won't have any Buttocks to pray for.

Not the most exciting moves in the world, but hopefully they shake this team a bit. That is all I can ask of it. Shake this team...like a crying baby out of a crib.

there was a funny saturday night live skit back in the 90s based on the baby shaking au pair. the ketchup wouldnt come out of the bottle and she'd be like "SHAKE IT"

Bowden's take on the moves:

Quote
Q: Your thoughts on the moves?

A: In the case of Ryan, obviously, he replaces Austin in the outfield. He had a .400 on-base percentage down there. He's swinging good, and we didn't want to rush the prospects and have them sit behind the young kids that are playing here. It would hurt two different development areas at one time. That wouldn't make sense... And as far as the pitching goes, look, both Sanches and Manning are getting the job done and throwing extremely well. We're trying to improve the depth of our bullpen, so we're going to give these guys a shot. They earned it based on the way they pitch.

Q: Key to with Matt Chico? Starting every fifth day?

A: Yeah, I think so. We need to get him back on track like we did with Bergmann, and that's the way to do it - just go down there and take the ball every fifth day. Relax in a different environment like Bergie did.

Q: Is relaxing his biggest issue?

A: I think it depends on who you're talking to. There are some things mechanically we need to get him to do. I'm a big fan of keeping the ball from the middle of the plate and using the sides. And when we sent him down, I said Jamie Moyer is 45 years old and has a lot less stuff than you across the board, but he puts it here-here-here and it's a touch-feel thing. You know, Matt is only 24 years old. He's 21 years younger than Jamie. So, he can pitch in this game a long time. He'll be back.

Q: When you make roster moves like this, with so many changes at once, can the change itself have a ripple effect?

A: Well, I think it's just a reminder of how hard you have to work in the big leagues to stay here, and how nothing is every a given. Certainly I think these moves remind everyone when they look in the mirror and they look at their card and their performance to know, you don't necessarily get to stay here. It's a privilege and an honor. Sometimes it does send a message.

If only we had a reporter worth a damn who asked good questions like why did he send Schroder down again.

Well Sanches sure did well, striking out three in an inning to pick up the win!

I think they'll put Ryan Wagner on the 60 day DL.

Why would Sanches want to F the World?

Haha, finally another person who is familiar with the older meaning of that acronym!  I thought people were using it in that sense for the longest time as well, but that meaning has been eclipsed by the newer and more popular internet meaning "for the win"

Which begs the question: Will Dukes have more HR's or children sired this season?
