Even PK can’t ruin this. Stats show Canada has more shot attempts and offensive zone time. And PK talks about Canada not controlling the puck.

He's a mutt...

that OT was fun. Bennington stood on his head to keep Canada afloat.

I saw a rumor about the Caps trading for Scotty too Hotty Laughton. Certainly not the scorer Marchand is but can kill penalties and play center or wing. I think he has one more year on his contract after this. He will be 31 in May.

heard that actually speculated about on Boston TV around Christmas. It would be tough, but it's the right move. Only reason not to do it is sentimentality.

speaking of tear downs - Marchand, Coyle, and Carlo traded today. 5 major pieces gone this week.

Yes they did. Seems like too much money for Rantanen.  He’s good.  But has been playing with Mackinnon for years.

Took the grandsons to the Orlando Solar Bears ECHL game today.  We sat 3 rows behind the team bench. Probably should have sat a few rows higher for a better view but they had some fun. Didn’t realize that there would be no netting above the glass. As we were coming in one kid was going out after apparently taking a puck to the head in warmups.  About a minute in kid got hit about ten rows back next section over. Pick didn’t appear to be going too fast but probably not looking.  Let the buyer beware.

Amway is a nice arena and they usually have a respectable team.  I lived down there in their inaugural season and we used to go to a game if they were playing on our trips from VA to Spring Training.

Kia Center now.   Have been to a couple basketball games there. Forgot how many steps it takes to walk down when you are seated near the ice (or court).

I saw the Shaq Magic beat the Jordan Bulls in a Semi-Finals game the year he came back from partial season of minor league baseball...so that was what...'95?  Horace Grant played for the Magic then...

I used to go to ECHL games in Roanoke about 30 something years ago. The games were far less interesting than the crowd.

No huge surprise after his comments Tuesday night: Flyers just fired Tortorella.

Yes, he forced their hands.  They are in full rebuild mode and he's not really the right coach for that.  Figured he would last until the offseason.

No, that was Devils assistant coach Robbie Ftorek (although if I'm not mistaken, a younger Tortorella appears early in this clip):

(Edited to reflect that I was mistaken: Ftorek was head coach at the time.)

Who, Tortorella? He won one Stanley Cup as the coach of the Lightning in 2004.

I've no idea who ultimately comes out of the West, but I would think that they are the favorites to win the Cup...whoever it is.  That Conference is stacked...
