The Gaudreau ceremony in Columbus last night was tough to watch. Johnny's wife and children were honored on the ice before the game as the Blue Jackets retired his uniform. The game started with Columbus without a LW as they ran 13 seconds off the clock before beginning game play. Both teams wore #13 for warmups.

The ceremony:

The Flames also honored Gaudreau before their home opener:

Then they will win the lottery. Middle is better. Just out of the playoffs.

quite the moment in Calgary last night as the Flames hosted the Blue Jackets for the first time since the death of Johnny Gaudreau. Players from both teams wore Gaudreau jerseys during skate-around and Johnny's dad came out as the first star of the game after the game ended. There was also a pre-game tribute to both of the Gaudreau brothers.

Raise your hand if you foresaw Gary Bettman becoming the most credible, and perhaps most likeable Commissioner of the 4 major sports...

I'm going to a game at the Saddledome for the first time next week, Flames vs Blackhawks.  I will go as a neutral though I might have to wear a Canucks hat just because  :P

Saddledome game me flashbacks to the old Caps Centre...low ceiling and high seats.  The place was actually full of people but felt small from down by the ice.  There was some good aggro by my seat (I went stag so I managed to get a single behind the glass for not too many body parts)

Got NHL network on my sling tv package this month. Nice to see Kathryn Tappen hosting their afternoon show. Also kudos to Alexa Landestoy for being in their On the Fly highlights show. Local girl makes the big time.

Ugh...Buccigross is on the Wings/Bolts broadcast.  At least he's in the studio with that other moron Subban and not on the play-by-play...

Sure is...
Even PK can’t ruin this. Stats show Canada has more shot attempts and offensive zone time. And PK talks about Canada not controlling the puck.
