I would not mind seeing Trevor Williams come back to the Nats. He had a couple decent years when he wore younger man's clothes with the Pirates. There must be a reason he was so good last year when healthy.
Williams is nothing more than a swing man, but he wants to be paid like a starter. He can't stay healthy enough at the level he needs to. And he doesn't have any margin to play with.

We need an actual, quality starter. Not a lucky signing.

He is decent. And cheap. That’s what matters.

For like ten starts.

No, he won't do here.

They need at least one veteran. The price for a top rotation guy might be too high. A back end guy who pitched well last year would be at least a decent backup plan

Williams will be 33 and only made 13 starts. The rest of his time as a starter is a bad #5.  Sorry, ain't good enough. If that's the plan, then just sign Goldschmidt and Yoan Moncada, and punt another season.

They have to get someone that can be reasonably expected to provide 25+ starts with a sub-4.00 ERA.

When he was younger he had two decent years as a starter. Has he been hurt prior to last year? If not he shouldn't be labeled as a guy who's injury prone from missing part of last year. I remember an article BOZ once wrote detailing how some pitchers don't come into their own until they reach around 30. There's a reason he was so good last year. Do you know what salary he's asking? If reasonable it would make sense to bring him back.

He ain't going to be younger.

Since the 2021 season, he has a 4+ ERA, a 1.42 WHIP, and has averaged less than 5 innings a start.

Last year was a fluke

if he clears waivers and wants to sign here for mlb minimum, it's worth a thought.

It could of been a fluke but the fact he was effective when he came back after the injury says maybe it wasn't a fluke. Time will tell.

Not waived...yet. But Rendon needs to come back to the Nats -- at a minimum salary, of course -- and play where people liked him. I keep thinking that he can't be as bad as he has been with the Angels.

Even here, he admitted baseball is boring. He’s the guy who gets paid and stops caring- it happens all the time in other leagues

Rendon would be perfectly happy to ride the bench in LA

I don't even want him here in DC to ride the bench as a visiting player...he's a goof...
