Least deserved bronze ever. Just remember that almost out of bounds is out of bounds if you're Romanian going up against Americans
yeah, that was heartbreaking for the girl who lost the Bronze.

I’m fairly certain the Chinese women’s badminton doubles team I watched were men. How come no one talking trash about them.

this stuff all started because she beat a Russian a few years ago and the IBA, run by a Gazprom exec, claimed it had evidence it won't produce showing she is not a woman. Literally Russian propaganda.

I know a couple who designed and sell a modern ballet shoe that is substantially more supportive of the foot because it use carbon fiber instead of cardboard. They sold some to Russian ballerinas, which po'd Putin, so the admin there hit shoe with claims it caused injuries. This was 10 years or so ago. They really are sore losers and bs-ers

An Indian wrestler missed weigh for the gold medal match by 100 grams. She has a full head of hair - I’m shocked she didn’t sacrifice it to make weight

The men’s 400 and steeplechase finals were some great TV. Watch the replays if you have a chance.

The Russians calling anyone else cheaters is really ironic.

Didn’t see the USA-Serbia game but will watch the replay.  Sounds like Steph finally broke out and had an assist from Embiid reading the wrap ups. France will be tough. BCool is a spectator basically as they roll with the vets.

USA and Brazil women’s volleyball was great. Must see TV. As was the men’s 200 meter final.

Embiid was playing offense, but not bothering to rebound. So many second chance points by Serbia thanks to his fat ass

Watched the first half. USA was down by 5 when Embiid went out first quarter. When he came back they were down 17. Got back to 11 down at the half with him back in.  Jokic abused the other centers when he was out. Perimeter defense or lack of it seems the major problem.

If only the USA had one of the best perimeter defenders in the world just sitting getting zero minutes

To be fair the Serbs were shooting crazy good.  Like they were being attacked by Croats and Bosniaks and their lives depended on it. Assume they kept that up.

Watched the second half. What a fun game.

I assume you mean Tatum. He’s a much better player than Booker so yes that makes no sense. And Edwards have them basically nothing today. Also let’s be honest. It made no sense to pick Derek White over Jaylen Brown. They could have used him today also.

As far as Embiid I thought he was great. He’s not quick and when balls squirt free he is not going to be the first to get to them. In addition to the offense he had a big block with about three minutes left and set the screen to get Curry free on the three that put them ahead. He also had another defensive stop where he forced Jokic into a bad jumper. In general he held Jokic in check. I could not find a box score with plus and minus for the game but my informal calculation had him at +14 for a game they won by four. Lots of that on Curry also of course. When they both went out late in the third quarter the Serbia lead went from 5 to 15 in about two minutes. I think it was quite an effort from Embiid. And so did Anthony Davis.

I watched the last 10 minutes with a neighbor. Our take away was that embiid’s laziness on defense was giving the Serbians a ridiculous amount of second chance points and that when Durant was switched onto Joker, it lookeded just as good as Embiid

People see what they want to see sometimes. Lebron knows. Somehow even with lazy defense they did much better with Embiid in the court. Go watch the end do the third quarter when they took him out. Serbia scored easily.

I think Lebron was the one sometimes playing Jokic near the end.

Was up late so watched a replay of the field hockey final. Went to a shootout. Interesting Joe the guys approach the net. Netherlands beat Germany. Bad sportsmanship by the one Dutch player who did a big whoosh gesture to the German goalie after it was over and tapped him on the mask.

Spain putting it to France in the men’s soccer final. Enjoying that for whatever reason.

Quite the comeback by France to tie it up.  But now Spain goes ahead in extra time.

USA women in a tight game. Their idiotic no rookie policy cost them the best rebounder in the game and they’re getting killed by second chance points. But they have Taursi sitting on the end of the bench as a mascot, so there’s that
