USA women in a tight game. Their idiotic no rookie policy cost them the best rebounder in the game and they’re getting killed by second chance points. But they have Taursi sitting on the end of the bench as a mascot, so there’s that
They looked terrible first half. Like a bunch of rookies. France jumping every passing lane and they don’t adjust.

They look like the USWNT at the last World Cup- too many young hungry players passed up for old players coached by less then the best we have to offer because we’re arrogant enough to think it doesn’t matter. They may be correct this time, but hopefully this team goes though the same transformation the soccer team did

She got her bronze back. Romania won at CAS.
Actually the Romanian who was incorrectly penalized still finished fourth. Another Romanian got bronze. Chiles fifth. USA lost because protest was filed late but there is no official clock.  And some claim there is video showing it was filed within the required one minute. It’s a total mess and they should just give all three a bronze.

The Romanian who initially was declared the winner and then had it ripped away from her won. She’ll never get the podium experience back, but at least she gets her medal

But what about the other Romanian who should have won bronze. She was incorrectly rules out of bounds but the videos said she was not.

The Chiles appeal would have been granted if five seconds earlier. It’s a mess.

If you go with a strict interpretation, chiles loses. If you go with the routine that should have won with competent scoring, chiles loses. Either way, the Romanians were jobbed

I’m saying the other Romanian should have won.  She didn’t step out of bounds. They should have been able to review that and get it right.

They accepted the Chiles protest. So they must think it was legit. Ruled it out on a technicalit of being late. It’s a mess. You shouldn’t jerk the athletes around like this.

The USA team skating team just got their medal in Paris from  the last winter games. There’s always a way to rectify. The USA and Romanian federations have agreed to three bronze medals. The IOC won’t do it.

If I was Chiles I would just say I lost the medal.

Give them both a medal and call it a tie. This is embarrassing.

Women’s bball final was fantastic.

Three bronze. The other Romanian was screwed by the judges.

USA and China tie for most gold medals with 40. We beat China by 1 in the gold medal count last time.

I think any Olympics where we are not #1 in golds is a disappointment for America but it didn't feel like a disappointment when I was watching it on TV. There were plenty of triumphs by the American athletes who were expected to triumph and plenty of feel-good stories about sports where the USA hasn't medaled in forever and this year some charismatic American won the silver or bronze - like the horse pommel guy or women's rugby. But did this mask that in quite a few cases, American athletes who were favored failed to win the gold.

I will do what I can to be there in person in 2028 in Los Angeles. Hopefully a lot of our silver/bronze medalists from Paris will be there and even better, ready to take gold.

If the Chinese men’s medley relay was subject to the same drug rules as the rest of the world, the us would have the most medals

Whoever put together the handoff to Tom cruise and the follow up is a genius. What a way to close out the games and start the hype for 2028.

Baseball and softball back for the LA games. The softball will be in Ok City.

Lacrosse alo in for first time since 1908. I think it’s with fewer players. Also flag football.

Will MLB take a break to let players go to the Olympics?

That would be awesome, except don't let any Nationals pitchers go. :)

Child’s appeal won’t be heard. I’d like to see the USOC respond in the most petty and insulting way possible. I think awarding the 1972 team gold medals during the half time of the finals in 2028 would be perfect
