Paris Summer Olympics 2024

Fantastic basketball game between Team USA and South Sudan. Radford legend Carlik Jones put on a show but missed the game winning shot. USA wins 101-100. They were a 41 point favorite.

Ah, but that's because Team USA are generally serious contenders, in most sports. Over here, we all start getting very excited when Team GB have an outside chance of coming seventh in Men's Basketweaving...  :D   ;)

Was watching 20 Heures (main French news programme), yesterday evening. Interesting item on the general lack of enthusiasm, in France, for the Games. Polls show only a 40% in favor, outcome - and there are still over one million unsold places at the events...

Do you know who is doing the road race and TT? Skew young, or is Thomas getting another chance?

I love the lack of race radios in the cycling road race...it adds an interesting dimension (such as in the womens race in Tokyo).

Ethan Hayter and Josh Tarling, in the TT.  Tom Pidcock, Josh Tarling, Stevie Williams and Fred Wright in the RR.

Of course, despite his denials, Pocagar's withdrawal, from the Games, has raised Vuelta speculation to fever-pitch... ;) Will he be able to resist trying for an unprecedented Grand Slam?

I'm curious who is racing for Slovenia. I would love to see them race with Roglic, Pogocar, Mahoric, Tratnik and Mezgec or Polanc just once in the Olympics or worlds.

Mezgec, Tratnik, Mohoric and Novak in the RR.
Tratnik to pull for Mezgec if he's there, Mahoric for the breakaway. Novak won the national road race so he goes as national champ.

even 15 minutes wasn't enough, they had to score in the 16th minute.  Lots of shoes being thrown at the ref

Lots of empty seats for NZ/Guinea...a former colony no less, I guess they're too busy selling wind-up birds and selfie sticks to tourists to attend football.
