I can't imagine any of that revolves around Cavalli. Cavalli has one major league appearance under his belt, he's 26, and by the time Opening Day rolls around he'll be more than two years post-TJ surgery with no healthy period in there.
You can't rely in any way on a dude who's been out for two years, has aged out of being a true prospect, and has never actually proven he can get major league hitters out. If you get anything at all out of him, even from the bullpen, it's a win at this point.
