Williams is playing catch up to 60 feet. He was placed on the 15-day injured list on June 4, retroactive to June 1. (Last updated: July 5)
After dealing with a case of the flu during his rehab assignment, Cavalli will get ramped back up with the Nationals. This will include playing catch and throwing bullpen sessions while back with the Nats. Cavalli underwent Tommy John surgery on March 22, 2023. (Last updated: July 2)
Bruh, there are dudes who had cancer and needed less time than Cavalli has needed for "the flu"
Ferrer pitched yesterday.
Per Bobby Blanco: Gray has a partially torn UCL and will be going under the knife next week. I guess they won't know if he gets a brace procedure or full TJ until they get in there.
So Gray basically is missing all of next season as well. Doesn’t that still count as service time on the IL? 2026 and 2027 will be the last years of team control.
Andrew Golden@andrewcgoldenNationals injury updates: - Cade Cavalli didn’t go to Florida during ASB. But he’ll check in with the doctors and head to West Palm soon. - Joey Gallo (left hamstring) could start running next week. - Trevor Williams (right flexor strain) is throwing from 75 feet.
In a way, losing Cavalli and Gray could be a blessing in disguise. This will force Rizzo to go out a sign a front end of the rotation FA in the offseason. Maybe two front end guys.
Wut? Do you think the owners will pay?
Davey Martinez revealed Cade Cavalli dealt with a period of "dead arm" in his rehab. That, combined with him having the flu, led to the Nats starting over his throwing program. Still expects Cavalli to pitch later this season, just won't be as many starts as initially hoped.
