Doo on learning players ... met with analytics team on old players. Talked about what types of info giving pitching staff. Talked to players on what doing, how feeling.  How Arms feel. Not just numbers. Talks to staff about what pitchers trying to do. Talked about their strengths (here's where analytics come in] and building game plans. More data than pitching (Hickey) and bullpen coach (Boens) can handle so he adds on capacity.

Rizzo said Doo's experiences help him as a go between for analytics and players. Talked about how changed from hitter (1B) at UVa to pitcher, popped from team to team, MR to closer, came here, closed on WS winning team. Variety of experience makes him good for role.
