He told the same story like ten years ago. I always has wondered if the songs were related somehow.

Saw James Taylor at Wolf Trap last night.
- We were inside the seated area, a ton of people left toward the end of the second set before the encore. When Taylor came back for the encore, i'd guess 20% of the crowd in the upper sections had left. I don't get why people would be in such a hurry to leave after paying so much for tickets

Maybe they didn't care for the show.  I've left both Springsteen and KISS concerts mid-set out of pure boredom...I'd venture that James Taylor would have the same effect on me...

i can't imagine buying tickets for a show, at a cost of around $100 or more, that i'd have little interest in actually seeing or that i'd expect to be bored with.

Heresy!

We left Jiffy Lube when we saw JT before the encores. To beat the traffic.

Neither could I, though $100 hardly moves the needle these days...and no amount of money would stop me from walking out if the show sucked...and hasn't...

I had no idea The Boss or KISS would suck...I guess you don't know until you know.  I do know that I wouldn't pay $100, or any amount actually, to see James Taylor...so situation avoided...

I walked out of Lemonheads shows twice (I've been to three).  Maybe I should give them another try

Even worse when the situation is reversed - I was at an infamous Stranglers gig when the band walked off after only 15 minutes. Outraged fans trashed the venue, and the band had to be corralled, backstage, by police (ironic) and security for their own safety... ;)

Didn’t guns and roses cause a riot once walking off stage early?

Sex Pistols had the USA tour when Johnny Rotten walked off with "how does it feel to know you've been cheated " or something like that

The line was actually meant to convey Lydon's frustration - he knew it would be their last performance, and felt cheated out of what might have been...

The Stranglers made up for it at Battersea Park  :pimp:

(I would suggest not googling "Stranglers/Battersea/Nice and Sleazy" from a work computer)

After playing a 3 hour set on Friday at Camden Yards, Springsteen made a surprise appearance Saturday at the Stone Pony and played a 30 minute set of covers. He then showed up on stage with two other bands at yesterday's Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park before his own 3+ hour set featuring about half a dozen songs that he hasn't yet played on the tour.

He'll be 75 next week.

I chuckle a bit when the set list calls "Because the Night" a cover of the Patti Smith Group, but I suppose she beat him to recording it. Collaborative effort on  that one.

Reminds me of a great line from an interview, by Patti Smith - 'we were playing in London, feeling pretty good about being the 'happening' band. Then a band we'd heard people talking about - The Sex Pistols - took the stage. As soon as I heard them, I knew our 15 minutes was up...'  ;)

It wasn't until recently that I learned that Springsteen wrote "This little girl" (is mine) for Gary US Bonds back in the 80's I think. I don't know if he's played it on past tours.

This one is as Springsteen as a song can possibly get:

Oh no!  That makes me want to revisit the entire Slayer back catalogue, at high volume... :D   ;)

Yesterday, Springsteen released a live compilation album of songs recorded at concerts from 1981 to 2023. It is called "Songs of Conscience" and it includes an absolutely incredible rendition of Last Man Standing from MetLife Stadium in 2023.

The 30 song set from Asbury Park last Sunday is now on nugs.net. Here's the setlist:
