Erasmo released
betting on himself by refusing assignment to Rochester.

Seems foolish, but...

erasmo will always find a job, and he gets to pick where. he's getting paid by the Nats either way (if he signs with another team, the Nats pick up anything over what they pay him, most likely MLB minimum). he'll go the minors, get fixed, and be up for a stretch drive.

It was a release. Erasmo could have refused assignment, but the Nats skipped the formality and just released him.

Last night on the Blue line I saw a dude dressed in full Alex Call head-to-toe regalia -- looked like a stunt double.  He was not necessarily
approachable.

Robles back on the IL
'splains his movement yesterday. I flipped out at the game and posted in the GDT when he hit the left field wall on a fly and only made it to 1st.

Did the Nats have a 40 man space or is there another shoe to drop?

Derek Hill over Call? Wow.  IIRC, they had two open 40-man slots.

I think its been bothering him most of the season. His sprint speed is down and his defense looked off.

If they have the 40 man space, makes sense. Call needs to get his batting eye back.  If they didn't have the 40 man space, then I don't know what the next move would be.

Edwards to the 15 day IL. Right shoulder inflammation. Jorge La Sorsa called up.

Now Davey has a lefty in the pen.

Probably Thomas moving to CF and Alu coming up.

no, it's Hill.  Hill plays CF.

FWIW, by my count, there's 40 on the 40 man, so no need to drop someone to add Hill. Maybe he was on already. La Sorsa was on the 40 man roster once they picked him up.

Hill has been hitting above .320 in Rochester. And Call just got there

I wonder if that is the end of the road for Victor as a Nat?  He was out for a while and still didn't come back healthy and had a fight with a young pitcher.

It doesn't seem there would be much reason to bring him back late in the season, and I doubt they'd pick up his option for next year.  I was always hoping for a Victor comeback/redmption story, but doesn't seem like it is in the cards any more.

Hope so. I know he might be injured again but they may be on him also. If you hurting that bad then don’t play.

They would owe him $3.3 million next year. I'd think someone would trade something for him.

Who would trade for him at that salary?

He’s minus 0.1 bWAR this year so far. Teams can just wait the Nats out. Not like anyone thinks he can help for a pennant run.
