DC pays for the stadium

Oh wow I thought DC only paid for the construction of the stadium, that's crazy. That basically means that the Lerners are lining their fat pockets with more cash and equity every year.

The day Rizzo, Davey, and ownership are gone will be a day worth celebrating with champagne and ski goggles. It’ll be the second best day in this team’s history behind winning the World Series.

I'll gladly join such a celebration lol

Lerners should sell, but keep Rizzo and Davey. The pair did well when Ted Lerner spent, and have rebuilt on a shoe-string. Think of Rizzo's deals, and the spectacular Soto for Wood, and CJ, and Gore, and the rest. And Davey's managing in 2019.

Ownership of a baseball team in DC SHOULD be worth a lot. Maybe not as much as the Mets or Dodgers, but sports ownership is a prestige buy. Remember Jack Kent Cook, who owned the Redskins for the pleasure of inviting famous people to his box, and then the greater pleasure of holding the Lombardi Trophy.

Rizzo has no idea what he's doing.  He's got a long list of first round draft busts, he looks for players who give him man crushes, he tries to make up for draft busts by signing rentals he can barely flip for AAAA players and lottery tickets, he has no creative strategies like other low budget teams, he repeats the same mistakes, he insults fans intelligence with BS about rebuilds, reboots, and how lucky we are to have won six years ago. He's part of the reason we're on losing season #6 in a row, the farm is modestly stocked given all the losing seasons, and he's not well regarded by his peers.

Davey thinks managing is all about platoons and lefty/righty matchups, he's also overseen a team the last 5-6 years that has played poor fundamentals, and he gives bad players way too many chances.  He and Rizzo will not be managers or GMs again, and are long past their expiration dates here regardless of who owns the team.

Martinez has stolen every dime he's gotten since he got here.  Otherworldly performances from the players got the team a WS...nothing that dimwit did...rather, they won in spite of him...camels, cabbages and all...

Agree.  One silver lining out of yet another losing season is the hope that at least he and Rizzo will be gone after the end of it.

Rizzo and Davey are the last links to the 2019 team. They’ll stay until a new owner is ready to compete
