I’ve said if for 6 months.  This guy is easily the best prospect in our system.   Including Wood.  The usual suspects sucking wind

Ok, I'll admit that I'm changing my opinion on slowing down moving him up. If not for wanting to see Tena get some burn, I'd be fine calling him up tomorrow.

I'm really not worried about contract deadline. At most, we'd be separating one of these guys by a year. One or two of them will probably flame out. And if all three are great and require extensions, then that is a very good problem to have. If the Nationals can't figure out how to compete with them in a seven year window, then we have bigger problems then retroactively wondering about call up dates.

first 24 games at AAA - .283 (good) / .301 (bad) / .495 (good) for a 98 wRC+ (not crying out for a promotion). 2.9 BB% is awful, 24.3 K% is not good.

He should not be in the picture for a promotion until he's had a month showing better results. At least a 120 wRC+. Double the BB%. OPS well over .800.

I don't strictly disagree, but to play devil's advocate Crews only has a 103 wRC+. The main differentiator between the two so far in AAA is the BB/K rate.

At this point, wait until we hit the rookie threshold. Its pretty obvious that Rizzo will be treating next year as a developmental season.

That won't be clear until we see what, if anything, they do in the offseason.

Brady House makes the @BaseballAmerica 🔥HOT SHEET 🔥 at Triple-A Rochester.

His hot week: . 333/.407/.833 (8-for-24), 7 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBIs

They wrote, "House could potentially see a cup of coffee in the majors late this season, joining James Wood and CJ Abrams as the Nationals’ young core in 2025 and beyond."

Since we're posting in 3 or 4 game blocks when he does well, it seems only right to go the other way.

In his last 4, House is 3-16 with 8 K's and 1 walk. 7 k's and 0 walks in the last 3.

My point isn't to act like I'm down on him. It's just to show you don't promote because there's a good couple game stretch. The inconsistency is a reason to keep him down. He's flashing. He clearly has ability. But there's no need to rush him.

You promote him because keeping him there does jack crap for his development. We need to get guys ready for competing in 2025. That was the whole point of this season.

This month, a 3% BB% and a 31% K%, to go with a .700ish OPS. IF he's getting that badly beat up by former major leaguers and guys working on stuff before a call up, then that tells me whether he's ready.  Let's just give Tena a good string of ABs and a chance to learn 3B for a bit and see what we have in him.

House's 21 I think as of June '24.  I'd be very happy if he starts next year in AAA, puts up big numbers, then forces his way into the lineup by Memorial Day. I think that's an optimistic time frame.

Yeah...he's been a disappointment...but as you say, he is still young and he may eventually pull it together...

I'm happy to give Tena a longer leash. I like what I've seen so far from him. Crews on the other hand...

disappointment is an over-statement.  He's been quite good, earned his promotion, is making fine progress, and eventually should develop into a major league stud. It's just he's not ripe yet, and the best place to ripen him is not yet at MLB.

Kiebust has a higher BA and OPS in AAA this year...

He should though because he’s 6 years older. I think he’s about the league average. And has lots and lots of Triple A at bats.

Remember in 2020 when our manager declared in Spring Training that Kiebust was our 3rd baseman...with no hedging...

That didn't age well...

This ship has been going down ever since...
