I really like this Caps team...small things some might not notice, like Orlov playing better this season, Sheary being dogged like Beagle was for us, Hags seemingly everywhere all the time, and the 2 young goalies pushing each other.Sprong has been quite an addition...gonna hate to see him sit when Willy gets back...So many other positives...other than those 4 for Covid...
Defense seems much improved this year.
Willy had a statement game today without beating the crap out of anyone.
Slapping the Rags around in the 1st is all good and well but they need to show up for the last 20 minutes tonight!!
Nit so much so far...Not hearing Ovi's name being called much by Joe B. either...
Hershey Bears vs Lehigh Valley Phantoms on NHL Network now...
Geez. They are playing like the Flyers.
When the Capitals resume playing home matches with fans in the stands, those fans are going to find quite a reduced restaurant/bar presence in the neighbourhood: no more Greene Turtle, no more Bar Louie, and just today I stumbled across this shocker - Legal Sea Foods' 7th street location has closed for keeps. (Caps and Wizards supporters used to pack the place before matches...but when there are no Caps or Wizards to watch....) - https://www.seafoodsource.com/news/foodservice-retail/legal-permanently-closes-two-locations-moving-ahead-with-insurance-lawsuit.[admittedly this is rather a dated story, but I really haven't been staying on top of developments in town since I started teleworking this past May]
I believe Legal had also previously closed their location at Tysons II, although I think in that case it was that their lease was up and they didn’t reach a deal to renew. Do they have any locations left in the DC area?
I wondered if Maltsev was related to the former Soviet great. But apparently not. Caps look kind of sluggish. I think the compressed schedule is catching up with them and guys need rest.
