I'm feeling curiously haughty.

Pedro rooting for the Nats!
In '04, he went out of his way to praise the Expos fans.  He feels a connection to the franchise.

Yeah.  They were just talking about this on TBS literally a minute ago.  They said that rest is good for the pitchers, but bad for the hitters.  I believe in this team - especially their mentality, toughness, talent, chemistry and their momentum.   Our opponent will be hot.  They said the Nats hitters should have a workout tomorrow just to stay sharp.

they can probably line up Suero, Strickland, Grace, to pitch BP just to be sure everyone stays hot. It's not the same as major league pitching, but . . .

I cried as I watched the players swarm the field after the last out. The chick sitting next to me tapped my shoulder so I told the people around me that I've followed this team religiously for 15 years and remember when they couldn;t get out of their own way (even when they were good) and witnessing this was so special for me.

 :woop:

BTW, I don't know if the video will get out but they were singing happy birthday to Bryce Harper on the subway on the way home. :hysterical: Someone had to have captured it on their phone.

I didn't read the GDT but how many of you were having flashbacks to 2012 Gio Gonzalez in the 5th inning?

This may not be  good thing for all the hitters, but I would think it's good rest and recovery for Robles, Suzuki, Zimmerman and Kendrick.  And I have this feeling Rendon could sleep for the next week, be awakened an hour before game time, and hit for the cycle.

Despite all the false bravado from certain posters I think it's perfectly normal to have had that game in the back of one's mind last night (as I certainly did).  I never really believed they would blow it but I was certainly concerned.  And of course even if they'd blown it they had 3 more chances to wrap up the series.

The 2012 loss has been avenged and then some.  Feels good to have been there for both ends of that story.

Exactly my opinion of those three.  Rodney might be an addition to that list 50% of the time.

A bit.  It was a bit jaw dropping to see how bad Corbin lost it after dominating.  With Gio, I never thought he was as dominant as 10Ks for 12 outs in the first 4.  Corbin completely lost his command.

What had me more :smh: was the 8th and Huddy / Storen.

It's amazing on a night that the Cards finally scored legitimate runs they gave it away with the drop by Wong and the blooper that let drop.  You know it's your year when you win a game like last night.

Everyone thought about it.  The only difference was you knew they had more games to play with.

False bravado?  It was confidence.

totally forgot about the Wong error. The cardinals probably win the game if not for that error and the misplay in RF in the 1st inning.

Are you talking about the error at 2nd, rather than the campfire in shallow right? Because I would have blamed that on Martinez...

Just curious.
