You are correct, sir. The bottom line is they expect the prestigious Dodgers or Yankees to obsess over them and those organizations that print money don’t quite think that highly of these players.

It doesn't seem the players and teams are too far apart on dollars/year, it is just that the big spenders want to be good every year and have wised up to the fact that 10 year deals are dumb and eventually bite them.

I live in San Diego and people never believed it because they thought it was a PR stunt.

Good on Fowler. Ever since the Ohtani presentations, etc. they seem to be serious about contending. Minor league system has a ton of arms ready and Tatis and Urias as the main bats ready to play this year.

I don't know, it's hard to see that team as being very close to even being a competitive team, let along challenging the Dodgers, even if they added Bryce too.   Do they have a starting pitcher with an ERA lower than 4?   That's not going to be fixed from within any time in the next 3-4 years.
