Attendance is not a huge deal in sports anymore. Concessions and optics of near capacity stadium is nice but the mega national and regional TV deals are where the $ are at...
Revenue generated at the park is 3-4x local tv money plus national tv money share for all but 2-3 teams in baseball.

Then get better TV deals because attendance is going down in general. MASN is more important for the Lerners, TV revenue is the present and future.

That’s why networks fight and it’s where the nfl and nba are king.

Lol

You make a definitive comment...then back off and say. "well we should be one or two of the different teams" blah blah blah.

Thanks for pointing yourself out as someone not to pay attention to moving forward.

Speaking of viable TV deals, is there even a known approximate date for a decision on the MASN matter?

See, you had me thinking there was a possibility until you came out with that third one.

Big increase from 2011 to 2012-2018.

Winning brings people to the park.

Yep and I'd wager that it's probably only lower than subsequent years because we were kind of a surprise winner that season and I bet early season attendance was woeful.

Bryce came up in May. If you don’t think that made a difference...

In 2011 the started to turn the corner (from 100 losses to 1 game shy of .500) so optimism was possible heading into 2012

LOL, if you only knew.

Now that I'm married and have a house, it's "too far" for my mom to even stop by. Nice to have peace and quiet with the wife! And don't get the wrong impression, I still see my mom once a month or so.

Thanks for your input. I didn’t tell you to pay attention.

Don’t need your attention. But hey that comment says a lot about the attention you seek :)

I would get into a civil, mature discussion about MLB becoming a regional sport and the dinosaurs in charge still not figuring out how to keep up with NFL and NBA but you are not worthy of it.

Interesting reasoning for bringing Matt Adams in:

Quote
“I think it’s just coming up with that mindset of being ready whether your name’s called or not,” he said. “Whether it’s on an everyday basis or sporadic, here and there, pinch-hitting off the bench, filling in and giving Zim a blow when he needs it. But I think going into spring training in the best shape I can possibly be in, going in ready to get better, ready to work. And wherever the season takes me, playing time-wise, I’m just excited to be on a winning club with a good chance to get back to the postseason.”

I think everything I've written indicates that I don't think that made a difference.

Source with knowledge of the situation: There has been ongoing conversations between the Nationals and Anibal Sanchez’s representation since the winter meetings. Sanchez has a handful of interested teams and the Nationals remain one of them.

This would be a signing I would hate. Sanchez is not an innings eater.

Looking through the history of those numbers again, there's some questionable characters in there.    I hope this group has better over all results.    28 will be our best bet for good results.     :)

Many of us lost confidence in Roark, including Mike Rizzo.  I think Sanchez has more upside.  Even though he's not a workhorse,  I want quality over quantity.

All focus is on second base now.

I think Dozier would be a perfect fit.  He's a great buy-low, and would be open to a 1-year deal to rebuild his value after a down 2018.  If he takes off, then you don't have to rush Kieboom or could even look to trade him if you sign Rendon and peg Garcia as the future at 2B.  If he doesn't rebound, then you mix him in with Howie/Difo until Kieboom comes up.

Would've rather spent the extra $5M and gotten Murphy at 2B.
