No burner account on WNFF for him.

Can't wait to hear Rizzo and Mark Lerner's spin job on this mess at the end of the season.

One interesting aspect of the 2018 Nats story will be if attendance is impacted this coming week by the trip to Cub & Cardinal land.

What, hanging on by your fingernails is not fun? Seriously, if you turn it around, then it's quite the rush. If not, so what? You save money on playoff tickets or something. I just put in perspective and move on.

They need to admit their hubris lead them to stand pat at the trade deadline, and we could be paying for the price for that miscalculation for years to come.

Do you really think picking up a piece of two would have help d this team?  They are ten back in the loss column. Anything of worth would have cost them in prospects. They don’t have a deep system.

More so September ticket sales. A great chance to score some cheap seats and watch Robles.

For sure. I think we will see an immediate drop in attendance. Lots of no shows, I suspect. The fair weather fans will desert the team in droves. Prices will drop on resale sites.

September is always a challenge for attendance because people start thinking about school, football, etc. Unless you are in a pennant race, that is.

Agreed. I've already got my eye on a couple games ;)

I really hope so. There should be a tangible consequence  for the mess they created.

This season has been a washout since June. Picking up prospects to rebuild our farm system might've brought hope for the future.

If they were realistic about this team they could have sold off guys and focused on 2019 with some renewed farm system depth. Instead, they stood with their dicks in their hands at an orgy.

we filled our biggest need before the deadline by acquiring Herrera, it didn't work out.

Not anyone’s fault that both Herrera and Doolittle got hurt. Combined with Strasburg’s continued absence it pretty much sealed the deal. And just when the lineup started coming around.

I agree.  I was responding to a list that said we should have been buyers at the deadline. Thank goodness we did not.

they mentioned during one of the games this past week that we had one of the best 3-4-5 productions in MLB.  That's what has been so frustrating.  The offense has been pretty good over the last month.  We've got the NL HR leader and the ROY, and likely the Cy Young award winner, plus a top SB producer.  Murphy and Zimmerman are hitting.  And we're 1 game under .500.  ARGHHHH

And earlier it was the lack of hitting. One of those years.
