Ron Cey used to beat out Mike Schmidt just about every year that old fashioned way.
If Dodger (or Padre) fans went to than many more games than Philly fans, they deserve to have more weight in that decision.

I actually liked the paper ballots.  Made it a little hard to vote and made stuffing the ballot box harder.
What I remember is most fans discarding the ballots and the few who cared picking them up and stuffing the ballot box.

Would be nice if Trea made ut but his stats and defense don't cry out for a major injustice.  Seems Rendon would be a better choice. IN any case the Nats have no chance.

The Dodgers have always had among the best attendance; so of course they deserve the all stars.  No one would want the best third baseman of all time to have too many all star game starts.   :hysterical:

O like it now; whoever can get on the internet and keep clicking gets in.  Rewards areas with high unemployment.

Trea 4th in final vote. Jesus Aguilar is 1st.

I would prefer no Nats players make the all-star team. I would rather they rest up for a few days than play in a meaningless game that doesn't matter.

Because 1-2 innings of zero stakes work is so taxing?  I’d be sad if I went to the game and there were no Nats.

Although Franklin Roosevelt was the first U.S. President to attend an All-Star Game, the fifth edition on July 7, 1937, at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C., is best remembered for an injury suffered during the game by baseball's premier attraction of the time.

On the last play of the bottom of the third inning, National League starting pitcher Dizzy Dean, 27, who had won 133 games in his first 5 1/2 Major League seasons while leading the league in strikeouts four times, was struck on his left foot by a line drive hit by outfielder Earl Averill.

Averill was thrown out and Dean left the game as scheduled. But an examination showed the line drive had broken Dean's big toe. Attempting later in the season to come back before the toe was completely healed, Dean altered his delivery because of the toe, injured his arm and was never the same.

I see them all year. I don't need to see them in an exhibition game. I would be sad if one of them did get injured in a game that doesn't matter.
