Have you read her recent tweets? They just seem like there's more personality in them.

Seems more to do with the Nats falling out of contention and just trying to have fun and staying up beat.

That's likely. There just seems to be more personality in them.

Maybe she knows she’s leaving for the Athletic.  :hysterical:

This would be dumb for her to do.

This is her way of signaling that she's single and one of you youngins needs to slide into her DMs

The Athletic already tried poaching a couple Post reporters and failed miserably.

Or maybe shes being clever. Like most writers are.

Right. Do people forget Adam Kilgore? The best Nats beat writer?

Unless they throw crazy money at her, she will stay. Same as Harper. :hysterical:

Beat writers are all basically the same. Some of you are throwing in sports columnists like Povich and Addie (who started as beat writers). Apples to oranges.

That wasn't the point of the conversation.   It was about beat writers of which Addie and Povich were exceptional ones.    The comments were about them as beat writers.       When I first arrived in DC, Addie was the beat guy for the Nats/Senators and Povich usually did columns.    Only old farts like Bubba remember Povich as a beat writer.    :)     Who knows if Chelsea will become the next columnist.

OK, today's beat writers are basically all the same.

Janes is a better writer than most beat writers. Her prose is actually pretty good. I imagine she will end up being a columnist. I think the Post is pushing her that way, given that they sent her to the Olympics for example.

Soto and Acuna could be this generation's version of Dimaggio and Williams or Mays and Mantle.

According to FanGraphs, they have the third and fourth highest wRC+ in baseball history for players 20 or younger.  And every other player in the top ten, with the exception of Mike Trout, is in the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, thanks for pointing it out.  I've been doing that all season.

He went from covering the Nationals to running the Post's East Asia bureau, according to his author page. That's an interesting jump.

I don't quite remember how it went but he said he didn't like sports and was embarrassed that he was covering sports and only did it for the money and couldn't wait to move on from the job. Didn't he want to be a food critic or was that a joke?
