Does anyone else think there is a chance that his real name is not Juan Soto and he is like 24 years old?

VaRK has been hacked by hammmondsnats. But shouldn't we wait until we know his real name before giving him a nickname?
actually, I kind of like "The Truth," which is what Justin Miller called him.  Ok, maybe it's in part b/c I am a Paul Pierce fan, but Soto is just an unbelievably disciplined, pure hitter with power.  :az:

Does he have to start every day? I know he’s hot, but he’s 19. The major league schedule is a grind.  And he hasn’t done anything close to it even in the minors because he was injured so much. Why not give him a day off every once in a while before we find out where the guy’s wall is? Or am I crazy?

He definitely should get a day maybe even two days off a week.

Yes. Have you watched this offense lately? Can’t afford to sit the best bat on the team.

Did you read the rest of the post? There is a significant body of evidence that shows that athletes need regular rest to perform at optimal levels. Why would a guy who’s injury prone and has never gone through the rigors of an MLB season be different. I assume we want him performing in September.

Wasn't that Rendon who applied that adjective to him when he was on his re-hab assignment ?

IF they have a stretch of 20 games in 21 days, then yes, he should sit once or twice in that stretch.  But if he's maintaining his weight and there's no clear indication his contact, power, and eye are diminishing, he needs to play 6 out of 7 days.

seems to be right.  oldest reference on the first page of a search for Juan Soto The Truth is to a Rendon comment in early May from his rehab.  Miller repeated it around mid June, then there's varying attribution to Rendon and Miller.  La Verdad might work even better.

from how he's playing, if he turned out to be 24, I'd still say he's a good young rookie.  That's Rendon's age when he broke in.

Eight game hitting streak

And right now Soto should be playing every day. But if Eaton keeps going and Taylor doesn't fall off a cliff, then yeah at some point you need to start sitting him more so Taylor can get at bats.

Give it time. Soto will taper off at some point, and at least one of our outfielders is due for another injury.

Probably, but at this point you ride him until the cold streak hits and hope other guys start hitting when that happens.

The best solution would be to play one of the 4 outfielders in the rover position.  Harper is better suited to be rover IMO.

Since May 20 when Soto Called Up

Soto: OPS .989 wRC+ 164
Taylor: OPS .964 wRC+ 160

These number are pretty much the same. If you're argument is to ride the hot bat, then you play both of them, or as I argue, do a real 4 man rotation.
And I know the argument will be "we know what Taylor is, this is just a hot streak, he will cool down,"  but unless we think that Soto is literally Ted Williams, he will not continue like this either.

Just do a rotation until someone cools off or gets injured.

Nah, the best solution always comes back to Harper catching.

there is nothing at all fluky about Soto.  He has always had this plate discipline, contact, and power at every level of his career.  most you can say is SSS.  There's enough of a track record for Taylor to know he is much more inconsistent.

I really like Soto, but I can’t wait to see the reaction on here when he hits a slump.
