A sweep is a tall order, but if we manged to win all 4 against the Braves, we'll be at worst 2.5 out of a playoff spot.  Likely, less than 2.  And if we go 3-1, we're at worst 3.5 out of a playoff spot, and probably 2.5 or 3.

There are 4 other teams ahead of us in the WC. Not sure where you got that 2.5 number

If we sweep and Phillies go 2-1, we're 4.5 back for the division.  For the wild card: .5 behind the Braves, 1.5 behind the D-Backs, 2 behind the Rockies (if they go 4-0), and tied with Cards(if they go 3-0).
So 4.5 back for division and at worst 2 back of the wild card.

If we sweep and Phillies go 1-2, we're 3.5 back for the division.  For the wild card: .5 behind the Braves, 2.5 behind the D-Backs, 2 behind the Rockies (if they go 4-0), and tied with Cards(if they go 3-0).
So 3.5 back for division and 2.5 back for the wild card.

If we sweep and Phillies go 0-3, we're 2.5 back for the division and who cares about the wild card!

Some pretty horrible pitching matchups for us going into this Braves series.  1-3 seems likely, 2-2 would be great.

Game 1: Max Fried versus Jefry Rodriguez.
Game 2: Sean "Tweet" Newcomb vs Max Scherzer
Game 3: Mike Foltynewicz vs Tommy Milone
Game 4: Anibel Sanchez vs Gio Gonzalez

Then we'll just have to out score 'em.

There's not going to be a better shot to make up a lot of ground quickly: at home against the Braves, Phillies on the road against a good team after a long flight.  It's time to either put up or shut up - if the Nats lose 3 of these 4, they've gone a lot of the way in digging their own grave.

Right,  no problem against two all stars and Anibal "Ace against the Nats" Sanchez.

You think after the Braves sweep the Nats, Rizzo will be allowed to deal players?

I thought I saw something on FB about it, but I think this week's FB game is Wed Mariners-Rangers.

Wasn't the last Nats' FB game a day game as well?

Sorry. I thought they would always be Wednesdays.

Edit: the article when it launched said “primarily Wednesdays”. My bad.

I will catch Charlie and Dave at 7:00 am in Honolulu that day.  Unless we are evacuated due to Hector.

Is it?  I would be extremely happy if all games were streamed for free and the quality of streams have been solid.   Bullcrap is having to pay 50 plus dollars for a cable package plus 20 plus dollars in fees and equipment rental just to get the one channel that shows Nats games.

Ah, you can sign up for an account without giving any personal information whatsoever.   You're not "feeding the beast"!

I'm not seeing how that can be seen as any worse than paying money and sharing your viewing habits with your tv provider who is probably one of Comcast, Verizon, Dish or At&t.
