Big difference between Kelly and this is that ND is a cash cow with an enormous national following

Obviously, but I would bet UMD would sue the NCAA and win on grounds that they didn't break any NCAA rules, so they have no jurisdiction. PSU basically did that and got all punishment lifted.

They could lay the hammer down and say UMD has no institutional control I guess but the biggest problem is the university president is a clueless moron and the AD is in self-preservation mode.

This new transfer rule is going to be awesome, turn in your old program for serious enough violations and you don’t have to sit out

But what college will want a snitch on their team? I mean seriously, I've no doubt they're all breaking one rule or another throughout the season, who wants the kid on their team who's already blown the whistle on another program?

He’s already at the new school, he just has to justify why he shouldn’t be forced to sit out because the NCAA has ridiculous rules on students, almost like they really aren’t students

No I get the rule sucks but still man, I think he'd be looked at unkindly at the new school.

I’m in favor of anything that makes the NCAA look bad, so I don’t really have a problem with it

players probably understand this kid's reasoning, a lot of them have been somewhere where a new coach comes in and everything sucks for the older guys. coaches know that this guy can't transfer again because he'd barely be able to play if at all and then even if he did snitch on them, coaches are ego-maniacs enough to think they have nothing worth snitching about.

I imagine his new school helped him come up with this strategy to get him on the field sooner.

In this case especially with Sumlin being his former and current coach...

Meyer gets only three game suspension and he acts like it was so terrible. Never apologized directly to the assistant coach’s wife.  Didn’t apologize for lying a few weeks ago. Most of these coaches are poor excuses for human beings.

Luckily for Meyer, recruits and their parents could not care less about the integrity of the coach they are playing for or sending their sons to play for. At the 5-star and high 4-star level it's simply a business transaction. :smh:
