I see no move except for a BP arm unless someone gets hurt.  But we need to move on a closer.  Miller would be awesome, but we don't need to go that all out.  Who are some other good bullpen arms that wouldn't require hammering us on prospects?  I could see us giving up one quality minor league like Fedde for someone solid to close out games.  Have no faith in Papelbon.

Another idea would be to bring Glover up or convert a starter.  Let's say we bring Voth or Giolito up at some point....wonder what Giolito or Ross could do out of the pen throwing max effort in one inning stints.  I'll never forget Jzimm's velocity in the 2012 NLDS when he came in, let it fly and struck out the side.

Ziegler and Dan Hudson available from ARI. you know Rizzo loves those ARI guys.

Agreed...Gio is anything but "fine."  He's a complete mess...

Dude, he almost got the W though. Didn't get the L

Remember the famous almost-trade of Daniel Hudson for Adam Dunn? Those are two guys whose careers have gone waaaaay differently than expected, since that trade didn't happen.

I don't remember that at all...dan Hudson was looking like a great up and coming SP, but two TJ's later and now he's a RP and a damn good one too. he also went to my alma mater so that makes him cool.

That trade and the Storen for Span trade. Two of the great trades never to happen.

Uh ... if we had traded Storen for Span, this team probably has a world series in its pocket.

Pretty sure you meant Joe Ross since that will probably be the asking price.

I disagree. he was garbage for three starts, had bad innings in the next two and we lost all 5 games.

Compare him to the #5 man on every other team and get back to me.

Got my Taylors mixed up. Yup. Surprised he's still on the 40-man and not the 60-day DL.

He gets 60ed if they need the spot.  No sooner.

I'm one of Diet Pills' biggest critics but he wasn't the reason we lost the game last night. He's had 4 disastrous starts this season but in the other games he's given us a chance to stay in games and pick up wins but the rest of the team failed to hold up its end.

Yeah, he doesn't have the talent of Stras or Max, but if he keeps his cool and battles he can be a better than average middle rotation starter.  He was that last night, it was a gritty performance when he didn't really have great stuff.

Lopez would be enough. That's an overpay.

I don't want champan. No closer for 2 months and maybe 20 innings at most is worth the prospects we would have to give up.

I still can't believe Rizzo traded for the DC Strangler...ugh....I will never forgive him.

What does everyone see as potential moves at the deadline?

Probably wouldn't have to pay a ransom for him, but if he locks down the back end of the pen and you go to the World Series because of it, he's absolutely worth it.
