and that stupid freaking double nod he does when he knows he has bullcrap pouring out of his mouth

The double nod is a body language indicator that he's paying particular attention to the questioner.   It's body language 101.

The fact that he just keeps doing this leads me to believe Rizzo must be in agreement with that philosophy-we're screwed :(

I'm holding out hope that Rizzo doesn't want to fire him during the season until they are mathematically eliminated.

I'm still fuming over no-Papelbon.  As soon as I saw Janssen departing the bullpen, I knew the game was over.  Terrible decision by Matt Williams.  Two nights in a row we get ahead with several runs and can't hold the lead.  Frustrating disgusting horrible annoying depressing sickening vomitatious!  Good night.

ESPN - "Looking Grim in Washington"

Pull the plug on this team.  It's dead.  Unless they make major decisions that work out, I don't see Harper as a nat for life.  It's already bad enough that the yankees are his favorite team and have the money to throw at a Boras client, but the one thing that they can surely offer him is a chance to win titles and the kid wants to win and I'm sure that he wants to contend for titles every year badly.

This one would have really hurt if we were still in the hunt.  We aren't, and we haven't been for some time now.

Put a bow on this season...

That might be a while because the Mets look like crap right now.

The worst part is that he got two outs with no problems. Then it all started by giving up a booming double to a freaking rookie third-string catcher...

But here he can play behind the best rotation in the history of baseball

Don't fume, if it wasnt for Janssen you would be waiting another 20 mins before saying Good night.

We have the worst pen in the league.  Matt is a freaking idiot and leaves guys in too long but we were losing this game regardless of which inning Papelbon pitched in

Grim would be a huge step up from what the reality is.

A monkey could have managed a better NLDS than Matt Williams last year. Then this year happened and it was like the playoffs but a whole season long. I would fire Rizzo and Matt Williams at the seasons end.

Our starters have under performed, our hitting has been bad all season, but the bullpen is historically awful - it has cost us 25+ games and failed to keep another high number close - we could have actually got by with the under-performance and injury to our "stars" if they had even a league average BP and any manager bar Matt Williams
