Yeah, I feel bad for him. He loses out on the gig he deserves to Rizzo's BFF, then things go south and he gets fired because the idiot Rizzo hired for the job he should have had couldn't do his job.

it sucks to see guys like McCatty go, but they are sending the right message - spending the kind of money they spent, and amassing the level of talent they had, wasting historic seasons by Scherzer and Harper, and not making the playoffs requires a wholesale change in attitude.

I have been wondering about McCatty. Seems like a good pitching coach would be able to help Blake Treinen become dominant. Classic case of "great stuff in need of mentoring".

I'm assuming dismissing the entire staff means we're bringing in a well known established manager like a Jim Leyland who will demand the ability to choose his own staff.

It does make sense that the cook who made the meal should be fired if the meal is expensive yet bland.

What makes the Lerners have faith in Rizzo? Do they have the connections to hire a better GM?

Finally... Sucks to see Knorr go but I hope he will still be in consideration for the Manager position. There is no one else I was particularly impressed with in that group so glad to see the rest gone.

I dont know about McCatty, I think he deserves some blame for the bullpen. Lets be honest, our pitchers seem to underperform over the course of a full season under McCatty.
