Whaddaya want?    He made one good decision this week.

He made a few this game, but c'mon.  I was so proud of his matchup baseball.  Thornton should have been warming for Paulsen.

Exactly: he's learning! Isn't that the important thing, not squandering the season?

He left Scherzer in too long. Scherzer was at 90+ pitches through 6 but was under pressure all night long, having to use his beast stuff. It was obvious he didn't have a clean inning in him, so if you're gonna pull him if just one guy gets on(and Reyes OWNS Scherzer/the Nats as a whole), he should have just pulled him after 6. Leaving him in and then having to go with the lefty to face CarGo just threw the entire inning out of whack.

Matt Williams should be booed at every home game until he's fired.

I don't care if he comes out to remove Strasburg after he gives up 10 earned runs without recording an out.  Boo Matt Williams until he breaks.

In the words of The Trump: He's a LOSER!  A total LOSER

Rivero probably doesn't put Reyes on, bloop or not, and maybe Escobar isn't shifted to where he is if the bases are empty.

Horrible loss. Every loss at this point is absolutely horrible but the one-run variety, the flailing-at-a-crappy-pitcher variety, and basically ANY loss until we're back in first place, those are unacceptable, those can't happen if this team wants to win the division.

Yeah, he could have taken Scherzer out, a batter early but THE PITCHING GAVE UP THREE RUNS AT COORS FIELD!

What makes anybody think these stiffs were going to score another run?  And as far as earning boos is concerned, every Nationals player who picked up a bat and went to the plate has earned your venom and enmity.  They should all be booed, every time everyone of them goes to the plate tomorrow night.  Boo them!

Sometimes we on this board focus on the fly on the wall instead of the 800 pound gorilla in the room.  Matt Williams was a fly on the wall. Max Scherzer was a fly on the wall.  The 800 pound gorilla was the putrid, rotting corpse that is this offense.    It's been bad all season but this game might have been the worse.

Venom and enmity? They're an underperforming baseball team not murderous dictators or slave driving tyrants.

This. It's just baseball. It's all about perspective. I have a friend who says, "If this is bothering you, you need to get some real problems in your life."

I dunno, I thought the "...putrid, rotting corpse..." part kind of broke new ground...

I don't think I've heard "putrid rotting corpse" in a baseball context since someone brought up Damian Jackson in a 2005 Boswell chat.

Ramos is the poster child for this offense. He is certainly one of many issues, but he is such a pathetic excuse for a major league ballplayer right now, I cringe when he is on deck.

Treinen to face a left handed hitter with a RISP, in a tie game, even though you have Thornton yawning out in the bullpen.....Standard Decision.

Agreed.  Another alternative is that if a voluntary activity is just making you mad, simply stop doing it.  The last Nats game I went to made me angry enough to leave in the sixth and post a rant on here.  I have solved this problem by giving away all my tickets since then, and I won't be renewing for next year.  I am happier this way.

Honestly don't know why Turner is up. Nowhere for him to play.

Second base. Or he is just up to get his fee wet so he's good to go at SS for next year.

LF - Rendon
SS - Desi
3B - Esco
2B - Turner

or

LF - Espi
SS - Turner
3B - Esco
2B - Rendon

or

LF - Rendon
SS - Espi
3B - Esco
2B - Turner

Rendon and Turner have to both be in the lineup.
