Far more offensive production is expected from a third baseman, so from a purely defensive perspective, centerfield is more important.   I think when someone says third is more important than center they are saying it's more important to have a heavy hitting third baseman than a light hitting centerfielder.

Yeah, I think this is more what I meant.  It was still apples to bananas comparing their fielding percentages.

I am mad at him for the fraternization with Machado before the game.  Wasn't the right time or place.  And he had the nerve to call the fans out a couple of weeks ago.
However, lock him long term please.

They're buddies, they were giggling like two schoolgirls whenever Bryce was on third during the Beltway Series in Baltimore.  That's why I knew Bryce's comment wasn't being spun by the media and that he was actually defending Manny and criticizing Papelbon.

Bryce is using his noggin as well as keeping it in one piece.

If he fraternizes, it's possible Manny could be like, "Guys, let's just beat them and not bother with the revenge thing.  Pap acted alone."  Pitchers don't wanna bean anyone, but they feel like they have to.

Trade him to the Dodgers for Seager, Urias, Holmes, and Verdugo. Or the Yankees for Judge, Severino, Mateo, and Betances

Barely hanging on to his 200+ wRC+ season, currently at 201. If he had 199 that wouldn't make it any worse, he'd still be with Bonds, Ruth, etc, but everybody likes round numbers and this season needs SOMETHING big to remember fondly, outside of Max's imperfect game. It would suck for him to just slip right out at the end of the season.

When I think of Ruth the first thing I think of is a 200+ wRC+.

That and .450 wOBA, right?? :hysterical:

I didn't know what the hell wRC+ was before this season (and I still don't think I get it) but everywhere I go I see Harper has it going really good like nobody else except Ruth and Bonds etc. He's already going to win the MVP but this season has been suffering, I'm greedy and I want something more, beyond MVP, which is supposedly what his season has been.

Hey Bryce, I never recall another player in the NL East ever wishing the Nationals well.

Harper has a better WnBA~  than Ruth, and it's not even close.

Ruth was a hell of a rebounder.

Matt Williams just said Bryce Harper isn't playing today "because of his part in the altercation"

Exactly, this is a clown show and Rizzo should've been front and center w/Williams at that press conference, everyone involved looks even worse today than they did yesterday which I didn't think would be possible.

If williams had just gone up, announced Pap's suspension, said tensions boiled over in a frustrating season and left it there, this would already be over, but he had to toss harper under the bus then bumble through a press conference. He can't get fired soon enough
