You're right. The cheers for the Mets would have been even louder in person.

You sound like you've never even been in a ballpark or understand how audio works on TV or radio.

Desperation? The roll of the dice?

You realize that you don't always get the outcome you want because you really really try and want it so so much, right?

First, I didn't accuse them of quitting.  I accused them of being bad and laid out the evidence.

I questioned, mostly hypothetically, how would it look different if the team had actually quit instead of being bad.  My point was it would look almost identical.  Being bad and quitting look very much alike so it's sometimes difficult to tell one from the other.

Based on how they played, it's not unreasonable to say they quit.  It might not be true but based on the evidence, you can't say out of hand that it's not true.

This is one step removed from a mindfact.

Crowd sucked today. It was so bad if I turned away from the TV and heard a roar I couldn't be sure which team made a play.

Probably shouldn't let Bryce know that you turn away from the TV...

And you shouldn't be judged. People have lives, kids, health issues, etc. At least you came out.

Hey, it just occurred to me. Is Harper now a member of the The Fan Police? :mg:

Seriously, people get on here and tell fans they shouldn't leave early or arrive late, they shouldn't do the wave, they should or shouldn't dress a certain way, don't talk on your phone, and so on. Let people enjoy the game the way they want for crying loud. At least they come and support the sport.

It's funny how Harper had that dig on the fans. I was actually thinking that they represented themselves real well today. They were cheering their hearts out until the very end.

Some fans will leave early no matter the score. People need to get over it. Just be grateful they come out and support the game.

And complete BS on the Mets fans being the only ones there late. The Nats fans were completely drowning them out. In fact, they were cheering "Let's Go Harper" (when he whiffed for third time) so as to drown out the "Let's Go Mets" cheers.

If someone who was there today in a different section of the park (I was in 135) has a different opinion, I'd like to hear it because you really can't tell on TV or radio. Nothing infuriates me more than people judging the home fans from what they see on TV or hear on  the radio.
I agree with you. From 134 which was mainly Nats fans, they were on their feet in the 9th only to see Rendon, Harper, and Zim suck. There were a lot of Mets fans overall, but you couldn't hear them until we blew it. Harper can shut the freak up. And if you weren't there, so can you.

This a thousand times. And I hope you were in the shade. I got lucky in 135. I was in the back under the overhang.

I was sweating my ass off for 9 innings of crap. The 4th was awesome. The rest of the game sucked.

True dedication, my friend. And then people have the audacity to sit on their couch and criticize people for leaving early. :bang: :bang:
