Figured he'd make sure to get into the line up tonight after his last remarks on Greinke. Hope he's ready to go tomorrow

Yep, thats the dagger in the season. Our best chance was to hope Harper went on another Ruth like tear, but no chance that's happening now.

Bryce, come on, Man....really?  Postgame quote after striking out 14x against Vogelsong and coming off B2B shut outs where we didn't even get a runner to 3rd, "We are a great team...."

I can't take it.  Dude, where's my ring?

First MLBer to 7.0 WAR (FanGraphs). Offense much more productive than Trout.

Beating Goldschmidt in homers, walk rate, K rate, OBP, SLG. Probably the runaway NL MVP if he stays good and healthy. If he can manage to play 40 more games this year, he's on pace for 9+ WAR. Would be only the 4th player to do that in the last 10 years (A-Rod '07, peak Ellsbury '11, and two Mike Trouts).

I don't have a high opinion of WAR. Harper seems to be wearing down just now. Two K's today.

Didn't ARod and Barry Bonds win MVP's when their teams sucked?

It doesn't happen often though. And the BBWAA won't give it to Bryce.

Who else are they going to give it to? Goldschmidt isn't making the playoffs either. Posey's numbers are no where near either one of those guys. Rizzo?

I asked Bumgarner if he enjoyed hanging 3 Ks on the only lefty hitter (Bryce Harper) to homer off him this year: "You're dang right I did."

I could see either being more popular with writers than Harper

Jordy Nelson, wide receiver Packers, is out for the season with a torn ACL.  Eerily, in the Nationals Big League Impact fantasy draft yesterday, they show Bryce drafting him.

If Harper hit 3 HRs off Bumgarner and said the same thing, it would be the lead on SporstCenter. :stir:

No they wouldn't.  Harper will be vilified for whatever he does.  The number of WS rings he wins is merely a sideshow of the vilification.

I was at yesterday's game sitting next to some Milwaukee fans.  Every time Bryce came up, one of the fans yelled, "You're a bum, Harper!"  After Harper hit two doubles, he shut up.  Jealousy brings out the worst in some fans.

Surprise! Bryce Harper shows up for practice with local youth team

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2015/08/25/surprise-bryce-harper-shows-up-for-practice-with-local-youth-team/

Bryce is remarkable. Russ White -- covered sports for the Washington Daily News and then the Evening Star -- says that Harper would be a joy to cover. "Mind as sharp as his hitting", I think Russ said, pointing to "Clown question, bro".
