Ian is a good guy to have on the team, but he should not be batting 5th.

WHY???? I'd love some stat geek to tell me how many times Ian came through when we were behind because yea I know he hit some random homers and he had a good average with the bases loaded but how often did that flippin' happen?? How many times did he deliver a hit when we NEEDED it??? I'd really love to know, maybe I irrationally devalue Desi but he seems to be part of the problem, NOT a situational hitter and that's what we need, not a guy who'll hit a homer when we're up and/or down 10 runs already.

I'll give you that, but I'm wondering if it'll be worth a damn in the end given all of the massive problems this team has, going all the way up to the boneheaded manager who apparently trusts Barrett over Stephen freaking Strasburg.

Honestly, you could tell in game 1 that Span had reverted back to the April Span and that we were doomed. Of all the hitters I think I blame him the most.

I thought he would be lights out this season. Hopefully he steps it up to the next level in 2015.

I think he will.  He was figuring it out towards the end of this year.  I think he pitched OK in Game 1.  Some seeing-eye singles and poor defense behind him changed the game.

11th inning against the Phillies, back in 2013.  Bases juiced, 1 out, score 2-2.  Desi comes to the plate, gets to two strikes (fouls off a couple pitches), takes a SUPER close pitch up and in, then hits a line drive GS.

His ABs grounding out to 2nd or 1st were ominous.

I don't get it... I was so sure the Nats were winning this game easily. I just don't see how this happened.

When Harper homered I thought the series was won.

N2P really hates MW
What Matt Williams did well in 2014:
1. The pitchers were not going to let runners on 1B steal at will anymore.
2. Nationals base runners were aggressive.
3. Ramos worked on throwing out runners trying to steal.

Williams handling of the bullpen was atrocious and cost us games and this NL Division Series. The game was tied and Williams GAVE it away.  He didn't learn a thing all season regarding pitchers.

Desi's had some big hits.  He was obviously awful the first two games this series, but he was instrumental in the runs scored in games 3 & 4.

So did I. I just knew the Nats were winning and going to roll Peavy in Game 5.

Feel bad for my dogs. Before this night is over I will take it out on them and they don't even know it yet. They're both dreaming but they are about to get a rude awakening.

I'm talking about the season though, he was NOT consistent this season he wasn't, we have too many guys who go cold far too much and he's one of them, I don't care about 20 something homers if he can't come through on a regular basis when it matters!

Nope dogs are what will save your sanity right now, can't feel too angry when you're looking at your sweet pups :) Just remember, they'll never let you down like stupid baseball players who can't hit when it matters :(

Good, I prefer that over Ian being such a good guy talking his head off about what a great season they had.

Praying he'll wake up tomorrow and realize he has a crappy swing, once and for all.  Probably not, though. :?

He's had 3 bad seasons, 1 average season and 2 bad seasons.

His stats are kinda weird.  He's been on the decline in his avg since 2012 from .292 to .255 this year (his OPS also dropped, he was above .800 in 2012).  His HR rate is about the same, his RBIs are up (probably a function of batting higher in the order).  His Ks are obviously WAY up this year, but his walks were also slightly up.
