The NL Manager of the year wouldn't have used Stammen and he would have been more lively...or alive at his post game presser.

Not thrilled with going to Stammen. That triple was the difference.

That triple sucked, but Ramos having perhaps his worst night of the season was worse
Not thrilled with going to Stammen. That triple was the difference.

I'm wearing my Vinnie Castilla t-shirt.  Heavy duty mojo there (last wore it for Game 4 in 2012).

The fact is Jake Peavy threw a no-hitter for half the game while Strasburg faltered. That is why we lost, not bullpen issues.

eddiejc1 has now shot his wad for preparing playoff GDTs. He'll have to wait for someone else to do it...

Ali the Baseball Cat, (The Undefeated) can we count on you to prepare tomorrow's critical GDT?

1) I have come to the conclusion this season that Strasburg is not the as good as projected, but this loss in not on him - again when he is on the mound there is NO offense . It almost like the team thinks they don't have to score when he is on the mound
2) Desmond is a big part of the problem - has no clue how to hit other then home runs
3) You have to score in the post season when you have the bases loaded - no situational hitting today. Reverted back to the first half of the season playing

I hate the Nats. Ball-less freaking losers.

I would switch Harper and Desmond in the order tomorrow and put in Lobaton for a game.

No kidding. We get shut down by freaking Jake Peavy and Kershaw bends over for the Cardinals :?  The Cardinals and Giants always seem to sneak into the postseason and once they're in, there's no stopping them.

The Nationals offense is so piss poor compared to both the Dodgers and the Cardinals.

Haha I agree.  Nothing on him, then they get a guy to 2nd and it's a hitting bonanza.

ETA: I guess there were the 2 HRs off him, but beyond that he was basically lights out until that 7th.

I wonder if any of our players are watching this game?  If so, I hope they have a notebook full of notes on "how to not freak up and ruin rallies."

It may be too early to call the Nats out, but for all the hype he gets, Strasburg isn't that much better than the rest of our staff. (Indeed, some people either here or on the Washington Post board were complaining about MW starting the Nats' 'fourth best pitcher' in Game 1.) But Kershaw really is that much better than the rest of the Dodgers' staff, and if HE implodes, I can easily see this setting up a crisis in confidence in Chavez Ravine.

The upshot is that if the Nats manage to come back and beat the Giants in this series, I think we're going to be facing St. Louis in the NLCS...

It is not looking good for LA, either team really right now.

I would say he certainly imploded tonight...
