QFT. He was really bad. Line drives all over the park. Couldn't punch batters out when he had them down in the count. He was fortunate not to give up many more runs. He set a bad tone from the beginning.
there were no line drives there were seeing eye singles all night I put tonight on the offense
dear god can you imagine if we go down 0-2. what a freaking nightmare.
You must've been watching a different game.
Bullcrap. He was getting smoked and couldn't put anyone away. Wilting violet
Line drives like crazy. and fly outs
Is this really how it's going to be?Can't come up with the big hit when it matters? Can't come up with the big pitch when it matters?Years and years of playoff futility?Really ?\The Nats are so much better than any other team in the league - did we really just lose a game to horrible jake freaking peavy and the horrible giants? a team we have FUnnING OWNED for years ?i need hopesomebody give it to me
just 5 of their balls in play and ONE of their hits were a line drive. But whatever.
That's a lot for 5+ innings for a "strikeout" pitcher
Well, the fact that so many hits got through, the defensive positioning was bad and our infielders were lifeless.
Yea, lots of balls got through.
It's not a lot.
And?
Yes it is. Line drives are hits what, 66% of the time? Combine that with a crap strikeout rate, a 4 pitch walk, a hit batter and you have an abysmal pitching performance.
Agreed, all those runs he allowed. Wait.
Who gives a crap. We're lucky the NL manager of the year had a quick hook and several scalded balls were right at guys.
The NL Manager of the year wouldn't have used Stammen and he would have been more lively...or alive at his post game presser Espinosa to pinch-hit until all other bench guys had been used.
You'd think this was still the Expos with how Canadian this board's being. And I'd have to watch them again, but in real time two of those hits didn't look like "weak seeing-eye singles" near "lacksadaisical infielders". To me it looked like they had so far to go they would have been amazing plays to turn.
