Select a Seat will have people assigned days based on year of original purchase, 2008 and earlier should be first day. Everyone will be assigned an hour to make your selection. Available seats will be marked as to whether they are open for 41 or 81 games. A much higher than normal number of plan holders did not renew so there will be a lot of open spots.

With the cap that was never hit at 20K season ticket sales and renewals running about 50% there could be games next April with attendance as bad as the low points in 2009 and 2010. They better sign somebody quick. And they better start kissing the asses of us existing plan holders to hold on to what they've got.

From the Lerner Family:
Few things in our culture unite family, friends and communities like the game of baseball, and we want to make sure that everyone gets the opportunity to share in this great time-honored tradition. With this goal in mind, we have decided to limit the number of season tickets available for 2013 to 20,000 of our 41,000 available seats. We are committed to ensuring that every fan who wants to see a live game at Nationals Park has the opportunity to do so.

The numbers to watch:

Lowest announced home attendance of 2015: 23,192 on Tuesday 2nd June 2015 vs Blue Jays (a re-scheduled match). This should, I would propose, be close to what the 'floor' attendance would have been last season (just the hard STH base with little or no day-of-match ticket sales)

Lowest home attendance of 2010 (and lowest Nats home attendance ever): 10,999 on Monday 20th September 2010 vs Astros

Lowest home attendance of 2009: 12,464 on Monday 20th April 2009 vs Braves

where did you see renewals are running at 50%?  I think we had a poll on this earlier.

Seems really high. I would need to see it validated somewhere to believe it.

A good report about the Hot Stove event held today. Camillo's upgrades and promo plans were more newsworthy than Rizzo's usual spiel, even though Rizzo was a bit more cantankerous than usual. He got a bit testy when the team''s leadership and Papelpon's status were brought up.

As a half season ticket holder, I have not been informed which seats I will have for opening day (last year
I was not assigned my "regular" seats for opening day and I did not expect to get my "regular" seats this year).  I called my account rep and was told that information would not be available until after the Presale.  This doesn't make a lot of sense to me since I assume some seats have been assigned to my account for opening day prior to making seats available through the Presale.  But it would be helpful to me to know which seats are assigned to my account going into the Presale so I can decide whether I want to keep those seats or try to purchase different seats in the Presale.

Does anyone know if the opening day presale code is the type that you could send to a friend so they could use it (like last season)? Or is it integrated with the clunky My Nationals Tickets system?

Not sure about how the code will come out but it should be out shortly.
FYI, like last year, you will be allowed to purchase up to 4 additional tickets, however, all 4 will be together in the same section and you'll get "best available" in the price range you select - good luck.

"Please keep in mind that [opening day pre-sale] tickets will be at gate price and while supplies last."

So us valued Nats Plus members have a choice of early purchase tickets at full "Diamond" level prices or wait for the general sale to get our discounts. What is 15-20% of the total of all pre-sale tickets sold? Maybe $5-10,000? For that much money the Nats decided to screw over their best customers.

I wouldn't be surprised if you cannot use your discount at all on the opening day tickets.  Even when they go on sale general public.  I am on a Nats insider list and usually they have a sale for us after the season ticket holders but before general public.  Have not seen anything on that this year.

On Twitter they indicated that there will be an insider presale. My guess is Thursday.

If I can't get my 15% discount for opening day I'll be pissed. Major bait and switch move to promote a benefit and then later deny it for the most popular event.

No official notice yet, the Nats wrote on Twitter to watch for an announcement.

They still have not released prices for sale that starts in less than three hours.

I got four on the 300 level, but only three are together (the other is a few rows back).  I really wanted aisle seats and the three are on the aisle in row C so I grabbed them all.  I'll sell the extra to someone who just wants to get in the door.

I couldn't get 4 together in Baseline Box or better, and the 4 I could get in Baseline Reserved seemed pretty undesirable to me.  I ended up going with 4 in LF Mezzanine (204), which seemed like the best price/value/seat option to me.
