I get where you guys are coming from, but for me, I dont believe one guy has the power to effect the team that much or cost the team the division. Would we be a better team with Bryce in the lineup? Sure. Maybe. I'll even give you probably. But we can do it with or without him. He wasnt one of our top performers when he got hurt so I guess it just seems a little weird to me that so many people were posting about how much he sucked this year but now that he is gone we cannot go on without him. I'm sure the team misses him but I think Zimm's absence affected the team more than Harpers ever would or could. You can visibly see the difference having Zimm back has made already but I do not think Harpers return would have nearly that impact. If anything maybe its just a tiny bit of a relief being able to play without all of the drama, and press and "controversy" that constantly surrounds Bryce.

There's no debate - he would add wins to the team but they are a good team without him - at times better.

The only point to be made is the "controversy" that constantly surrounds him is due to him missing time and being more of a celebrity during baseball season then you know ; a baseball player. That is what he is paid to do. Not visit the zoo in a pennant race in June. That is just a fact.

I thought Harper's BH had been temporarily spayed (at least until Harper returned from the DL).  :?

LaRoche can't play anywhere else.
I have a sneaky suspicion that LaRoche could play third?

What the freak man. Bryce harper sucks at bunting. He is crap. He is worse than crap. He is that crap your dog eats and then craps out his ass. Bryce Harper is single handly the worst freaking bunter on the planet. My five year could bunt better than him.

We had a left handed throwing SS on my college dorm softball team, but you don't often see a left handed throwing 3rd baseman in the majors.

If Harper is who we think he is, then he is a game changer. I mean a season changer. Oh, you get what I mean.

If he plays like he did in April of last season, this team is gonna be tough to beat.

we want his bat in the lineup. no doubt about that. what we don't want is Zimm back at 3b and Rendon back at 2b. If harp could play C or 2b that would be sweet, but unfortunately he doesn't/won't/can't/shouldn't.

Why not just put Zimmerman back at 3b and give him a short leash? I honestly take his defensive liability there over Espinosa's offense.

I think I'll pull some of this where RZ will play talk into the RZ in left thread and out of this one.  There's not enough Harper drool in these posts for the compendium.

ames Wagner (@JamesWagnerWP): Bryce Harper (thumb) will pick up a bat & take light swings & play catch for first time next week, per Williams. No BP yet; he's easing in.

Harper's BH is more in favor of him ramming in.

Still think they should try Harper at third. Just to see what happens.

Doubtful. His brother is meh.

Donaldson went from catcher to third. I think Harper could do it.

Look at those reflexes off the mound. Third base material.
