We ready brought up someone. Souza. And we have McLouth, Moore, and Fradsen. So LF is good.

Certainly better than the B or C options

Really? Baseball players have been taking steroids for decades. Mantle was caught injecting himself with horse steroids.

Age 21 seasons:

Mell Ott: 1.029 OPS, 8 WAR
Ty Cobb: .842 OPS, 6 WAR
Al Kaline: .953 OPS, 6 WAR
Alex Rodriguez: .846 OPS, 4.3 WAR (previous year he had OPS over 1.000 and posted 9 WAR)
Mantle: .895 OPS, 4.9 WAR

Harper is no where near this.

dude it's april, even Miggy is struggling mightily.

More accurately, he took "steroids they wouldn't give to horses"

Isn't there a Cleveland Clinic in DC still? I remember taking someone there years ago. It was right off Wisconsin near the DC line.

Yeah, but if you had a chance to spend a few days in Cleveland, why would you say no??

Dude, it doesn't matter.

Harper can't stay out of his own head.

If you had a way to get out of a trip to Cleveland, why wouldn't you take it?

I hope he comes out of this okay, but I'm afraid he plays too hard for his own good. He's never had a major injury (hopefully this isn't the one), but all of these little injuries add up over time and will cut his career short. He's such a fantastic player to watch when healthy but he can't seem to stay there for more than a week at a time.

He needs to find the line between playing hard and playing smart. Lots of guys play hard and they don't get hurt all the time.

“We fear that he’s got a really bad problem with the thumb,” Williams said. He added later, “the prognosis, we just don’t know yet.”

Wonder why he was available as an emergency guy on Saturday as the "25th man off the bench" if he's got serious damage in his hand? God this is so much like last year all over again with this China Doll player of ours.

Meaning they are doing a Ronnie Lott with it, then they rub some dirt on it, because thumbs and holding a bat or ball are way overrated anyways

dude it's april, even Miggy is struggling mightily.

Miggy has won basically two triple crowns and raked his entire career. Has always looked in more control - even at 21 - then Harper has ever looked at the plate. There's no comparison. Harper is a raw but talented , flailing, injury prone prospect who is on the verge of becoming JD Drew 2.0, and Cabrera is maybe the generational talent in the game today aside from Trout (Trout has a long way to go to be considered a future HOF). Cabrera is a living legend. He's allowed to struggle mightily. Oh and his numbers are better than Harper even struggling

Oh boy, that's going to make the Matt Williams thread even more fun. He's starting to turn into a white, quick Ramos.

I'm just saying that it is still April.  At least wait until Memorial Day before deciding if someone's season is lost.

There goes a few games in the standings, which the Nats can't afford to lose.

What a bummer.  Love seeing this guy play...tough break for him 2 years in a row.
