Eff of Feinstein, Werth is above the law. He does not deserve to go to jail.

Failure to give a proper signal is reckless? crap, if Maryland had the same law, 2/3 of their drivers would be serving time.

Jayson Werth on jail time: ‘It’s not a destination you would choose’

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/washington-nationals-jayson-werth-on-jail-time-its-not-a-destination-you-would-choose/2015/02/19/1a1fa77c-b85e-11e4-a200-c008a01a6692_story.html?tid=trending_strip_5

Bemused that he said he didn't put anyone in danger.   What about yourself?    And possibly others who would have had come to save your dumb ass?

He was far more contrite than I expected.  Jail must have been harder than algorithms...

Anyone can do jail. Not like it's the hardest thing in the universe.

Standup guy. And was made an example by the judge. Totally unnecessary. Community service would have been much more helpful.

what I got out of it is that he would have been more concerned and probably more careful had others been around.  I still get the sense that he thought he was safe at that speed in that car in the circumstance he was in.  As the post writer put it, not quite apologizing but recognizing what he did was wrong, bad example, not being a good community member. The last I think is important to him.  He is pretty strong about digging roots in here.  That's why he talks about how he learned about the Virginia laws on driving and that they mean them.  It's like citizenship for him.  Next thing I expect him to start talking about is the war of northern aggression and what a great man Robert E Lee was.

Hey Mit. 110 in a Porsche is not dangerous . It wasn't like he was racing someone or weaving in and out of traffic. The cars are made for the autobahn.

I've been 113 (est) on a motorcycle.    That's hairy.

I kept hoping he'd say that some Philly fan was giving him crap in jail, so he beat him senseless.

Thing about putting someone in danger by speeding, it's the situation you don't expect that gets you in trouble.  One guy traveling the speed limit changing lanes, one guy entering the highway...

He tread a fine line, but he wasn't exactly begging for forgiveness. Then again, I don't think it was a jail-time offense.

Oh please, if he wants to drive that fast go be a flippin' race car drive or better yet use some of your tens of millions of dollars to rent a flippin' racetrack.  He didn't put anyone in danger?  How nice of him to know that for sure as he was driving like a maniac, I guess he's no clue that accidents don't exactly happen on purpose.  What a spoiled brat, I dislike this dumb bunny more every time he opens his stupid mouth.

Not while living in McLean.  He would have to move to Fredericksburg or further south.

But what about the sudden arrival of another vehicle ?  Werth couldn't guarantee the road would be clear and open for him.

If you want to go 110, go to a track day. I can afford a porshe shouldn't be a defense against reckless driving

I take it that Jayson's still figuring his way around the area. If he was goin' 105 on 270 or 95 up towards Balmer he'd have folks riding his bumper.  :)
